TNA reportedly in negotiations with Brock Lesnar, & releases

The Wrestling Observer is reporting that Kurt Angle is currently trying to work out a deal for Brock Lesnar to come to TNA Wrestling. TNA President Dixie Carter and Lesnar have reportedly already begun talks about him possibly coming in. We hope to have an update on this situation soon.

According to a report by PWInsider, Matt Bentley, Brother Runt and Doug Basham have all been released by TNA Wrestling. Another report by The Wrestling Observer is also stating that TNA is in the midst of numerous financial cutbacks largely in relation to the signing of Adam "Pacman" Jones. TNA Wrestling hasn't confirmed any of these release on its official website as of 8:00 p.m. Eastern on Wednesday.

TNA Wrestling has quietly confirmed the release of five talent that includes Jerry Lynn, Basham, Damaja, Brother Runt and Matt Bentley. Matthew B. Dyersburg sent us word that all five profiles for the wrestlers have been removed from the "Roster" page on TNAwrestling.com.

A report issued on Wednesday evening first confirmed the Matt Bentley, Brother Runt and Basham releases. It's now been confirmed that Jerry Lynn and Damaja have also joined that group as well. One report has suggested that the releases may have to do with the recent signing of Adam "Pacman" Jones as TNA continues many financial cutbacks.

To follow up on an earlier report on Wednesday evening, PWInsider is reporting that TNA has opened discussions with Brock Lesnar about joining the company this fall.

Reports now are suggesting that the talks between TNA and Lesnar have to do with Lesnar possibly debuting later this year when TNA is expected to expand Impact on Spike TV to two hours following a new deal with Spike TV. This reported expansion with Spike TV is expected to take place in early October if negotiations are completed.

Kurt Angle is said to be the one who initially got the two sides talking as he reportedly had a long conversation with Lesnar about coming to TNA while the two were in Japan working for Antonio Inoki (which is where Angle defeated Lesnar for the "fake" IWGP Title). This same report is also stating that Lesnar quietly traveled to Nashville for an initial meeting several weeks ago.

Jerry Lynn is top notch, too bad they cut him.

I thought Lesnar seemed pretty wrapped up in his MMA career....just had his first fight not that long ago, and won. also, his new sword tattoo on his chest is one of the more ridiculous tattoo's I've ever seen.

suprising .. especially since TNA has denied some release requests in the past .. wasn't VKM asking for a release but got denied?

Yea, but the differenc eis that TNA knows that WWE is highly unlikely to hire Lynn as they barely do anything with the cruiserweights that they've already got.

VKM on the other hand requested their release during the DX reunion run last year and would surely have been hired by WWE to come in, bash TNA and then most likely get jobbed out to Shawn and Hunter.

Have you seen the Kurt Angle/TNA skit thats been posted at the other site yet?
