Television station WPXI of Pittsburg, Pennsylvania is reporting that Kurt Angle was arrested on DUI charges last Friday. Here is the official report from WPXI:

MOON TOWNSHIP, Pa. -- Wrestler and former Olympian Kurt Angle was arrested on a charge of drunk driving last Friday afternoon.

Moon Township police got a report of an erratic driver. The description of the car and the driver matched that of Angle. Police went to Angle's home and they said he admitted to driving the car home from a local bar.

Officials said Angle failed a field sobriety test but refused a blood test. Angle is charged with driving under the influence and careless driving.

New details have surfaced regarding TNA Champion Kurt Angle's arrest last Friday. Angle was formally charged with Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol or Controlled Substance and Careless Driving.

According to a press release issued by the Moon Township Police Department (Allogheni County, PA), a motorist reported that a white Cadillac Escalade had just pulled out of a local bar and nearly stuck their vehicle. The witness observed Angle's vehicle cross over double yellow lines and nearly hit a street sign along the road as it travelled down the highway.

The motorist gave police officers the registration information of the vehicle and a description of the driver. Police then learned the vehicle was registered to Kurt Angle, a local resident.

Police visited the home of Kurt Angle and found the white Cadillac Escalade in the driveway. Angle matched the description of the driver in question and he confirmed he had just left the bar where the whitness saw him. After submitting to and failing a feel sobriety test, Angle was arrested and transported to a local hospital. At the hospital, Angle failed to take a blood test.

Angle was then taken to the police station, processed and released. He will be ordered to appear before the Magistrate at a future date for a Preliminary Hearing.

eh... angle actually probably did the smartest thing he could do in that situation... dont take a breathalyzer or blood test, the witness is circumstantial.... with a good lawyer he'll got off of this pretty easy I'd think.

^yes. atlest in every state I've lived in. some states have penalties for refusing to take the tests, like suspending your license for 3 months... but if you get charged with an actual DUI you're license will be suspended longer than that anyways, plus you'll have to deal with the legal implications & costs of a DUI, which over a couple years can be $10k.

much cheaper to deny the test, give the prosecutor absolutely no evidence you were impaired, pay for a good lawyer and 6 months later you're done with it, with a clean record.
