I must admit your avatars have been what's pushing me.

Excellent lighting. How'd you do it? I used the same dream tan and I loved it but my images turned out all... color saturated? Bleh. I think some experimentation is in order.

Because you are supposed to.

It looks strange in person, but you will look really strange on contest day if you don't apply color to your face also.

Take a look at the offstage pics of Jay Cutler from the Olympia this year to see how dark his face was.

Here a few random examples:

Glad I could provide some motivation, that's always very flattering to hear.

Yeah, I noticed in your pics that the coloring was way off. You look very "oompa loompa" orange. If you used the DT #2, there was definitely a big issue with your camera settings or funky light. Did you have the white balance set correctly on the camera? I don't know if you have photoshop... you could try to do a color correction.

In the end, I simply used one 500 watt halogen "work light" that I bought at Home Depot for $10.00 and a tripod stand that came with another light set that cost me $60, but I didn't even use the lights that came with it, just the tripod. I placed the light in front of me about 7 feet and up just below ceiling height. I was amazed that after I put on the Dream Tan, I looked great in just about any lighting.

DJohnson, your problem could be :

different color lights. I've had this problem with video and photos, where 1 light source is daylight Color (red), and one is indoor color (blue). I think I got those colors right. Anyhow, if you have a mix of both, your color balance will be all out of whack.

Yeah, the pictures make me look very orange but in person my color/shinyness looked just like yours. I had a good real tan to begin with, bunch of applications of protan and the final thick application of Dream Tan #2.

Camera was just set on auto. I'm a camera noob.

In another thread I think you mentioned you figured you were 8-10% bodyfat or something?

I'm thinking 5.5-7% bodyfat would be much more likely.
