Default TEAM TORTURE - The Endomorph Saga

About Me

My story is fairly simple, after high school I managed to balloon up near 400lbs. I knew I was fat, but tricked myself with the entire ‘in good shape for my size’ and ‘I’m packing quite a bit of muscle under the fat’ comments when I looked in the mirror. Knee problems, wedding pictures, and the words ‘morbidly obese’ from my doctor forced me to realize the dire seriousness of my situation, and thus began a journey.

Over the past 10 months I’ve managed to drop down to 298lbs (at one point I was in the 270s before faltering for a while), which is nearly 100lbs from my highest ‘accurately’ recorded weight. After hearing about the amazing results many of my friends (fitnfirm, dawnmarie, viperspit, the list goes on and on) have had with Michael Elias, I contacted him myself to set up personal training.

Beginning Stats - Split- Supplementation
Here are my current stats, supplements, training split, etc.

Beginning Stats

* Age: 24
* Sex- Male
* Height: 5'11"
* Weight: 298.6
* The Guns: 17.75"
* Chest under armpit: 49.375"
* Waist: 47"
* Thigh: 26"
* Calves: 19.125"
* Forearm: 12.5"
* Neck: 18.5"
* Wrist: 7.625"

Training Split

Training designed by WNSO Natural Bodybuilder, and member of Team ALRI, Michael Elias. The plan is designed to build lean mass while burning fat. Each nightly update will include a workout log.

Supplements

ALRI Venom Hyperdrive 3.0 - I will be logging my experiences with Hyperdrive 3.0 throughout this log as well. I have seen nothing but positive feedback thus far about it and am looking forward to it immensly.

Staple Supplements

* ON Whey Protein
* TP Casein Protein
* Multi
* Glucosamine/MSM (for joint support)
* Potassium
* BCAAs
* EFAs

Diet

My diet plan is also devised by Michael and is based upon my personal needs and even food preferences. I will be posting daily caloric intake/macronutrient breakdowns, but not providing full food logs.

PICTURES UPDATED TOMORROW..

Thanks for stopping in,

Stonecoldtruth, the Team Torture Endo

I am *VERY* interested to see how EME does training an endomorph that is very similiar in genetics to me.

I'm gonna subscribe to this thread josh. It's going to be a good time. Don't let me down! If you fall off the wagon and dissappear again, so help me god, I am going to hunt you down, hop up onto your shoulders, and smack any unhealthy food out of your hands. Then I will lead you to the gym by holding a slice of pizza in front of you. Don't make me do it. This works. I saw it in a bugs bunny cartoon once.

Oh and dude, P.S.

This title makes me think of "the 7th saga" for super nintendo... man that games kicks hardc0re ass. I'm playing through with the elf and have never made it this far before. I think she's a bit over powered

There will be no required buttkicking off the Josh during this log. The very FEAR of Fnf's whip and Skel's quads is enough to keep me going day in and day out. Hunger is but a temporary foe, DOMs are but a sign of growth, Fatigue is a sign of improving conditioning and fear doesn't exist here.

On tonight's agenda we have Legs.. make sure to check back later for the full log. I'm still at work right now, wishing I could leave and go to the gym, heh.

SCT

p.s. You are both welcome to visit anytime though, I'll show you all of the things this bursting city (sioux falls) has to offer.

Again with the catchy titles - I'm waiting up for that log. No, I'm actually doing homework but it was a good try, right?

I hope you aren't still at work.

Default Breaking Me In, Day 1 in review

Today was leg day at the gym, so I had to kick it in into high gear my first day back. Lets just say that this leg workout was easily more difficult than Scivation's 'Dubs' workout and I think that I'm going to be crying tomorrow when my legs start to hurt again.

Exercises

Barbell Squats - 185x12, 185x12, 185x12, 185x12
Leg Press - 450x12, 540x12, 540x12, 540x12
SLDL - 135x12, 155x12, 185x12, 185x12
Leg Extensions - 3xTriple Drop Sets with 180
Leg Curls - 3xTriple Drop Sets with 165

*Triple drop sets involve the beginning weight with a certain number of reps, once you reach that number you immediately half the weight and go to failure, then you half the failure weight and again go to failure.

30 minutes Treadmill, 3.0mph @ 15 Incline

Diet

2863 Calories
- 95 grams of fat or 29.86%
- 222 grams of carbs or 31.01%
- 280 grams of protein or 39.11%

Stayed on diet to the LETTER today. Downside of the day was a meal I had trouble choking down, so Michael already found a suitable replacement for me in the future. Yes, that is how awesome the man is.

Day 1 of Team Torture was torturous, scary, fun, and exciting. And now for the moment that will end every day's update.

Weight
AM Weight - 296.8
PM Weight - 296.0

How much water do you drink in a day? Especially this day 1.

I actually intake between 1.5-2 gallons of water per day. I've been hitting 2 lately with the heat being so high

I can push up more than 540 but I'm used to doing sets of 6-8.. these higher reps require me to lower the weight and my ego a bit.

Default Day 2, burning it up

Today was day 2 of the 12 week Team Torture extravaganza with EME! In the gym today it was 'back/shoulders/abs' along with some cardio and boy did it kick my butt hardcore. The hardest part about today was the cardio with these insane hamstring DOMs I'm having.

Exercises

WIDE Grip Lat Pulldowns - 115x12, 115x12, 130x12, 130x12
Seated Machine Rows - 115x12, 130x12, 130x12, 145x12
Seated DB Military Press - 35x12, 40x12, 50x12, 50x12
The Triple Threat - 15x8, 15x8, 15x8 ***
Hanging Leg Raises - 3 sets of 15
Decline Crunches - 3 sets of 15

CARDIO

30 minutes Treadmill, 15 incline, 3.0-3.3 mph

***The triple threat is a supersetting of Front DB Raises, Side DB Raises, and Rear Delt Db Raises. The weight on this was purposely low while monitoring my shoulder. So far so good.

Diet

Water Intake - 2.25 gallons

2728 Calories
- 95 grams of fat or 31.34%
- 130 grams of carbs or 19.06%
- 338 grams of protein or 49.56%

Day 2 diet was on key to the point, the only downfall as that I used a tad too much protein in my post workout shake, but it was just to finish off the jug.

The best/worst part of the day was that as soon as I left the gym my sister-in-law called me to help them move. So I shoveled down my post-workout nutrition and then went and lifted a bunch of dressers, tvs, couches, and a SOLID Oak entertainment center.... all in 105 degree heat.. *faint*

Weight
AM Weight - 295.2
PM Weight - 295.8

Default Day 3, Sunday.. the day of rest

Today was day 3 of the 12 week Team Torture journey, and it was literally a day of laziness and tasty foods. Well, breakfast was super tasty the rest of the meals were my standard meals.

On this morning's menu... MUSCLECAKES! Whole grain pancakes made with EME's special recipe and topped with some zero cal/zero carb syrup. It was amazing.. I was all Emeril-like in the kitchen.

Today was a day off from the gym so not much to report there. Minor DOMs still in my legs but my back/shoulders/arbs are fairing well

Since I just finished prepping my last meal, here is today's caloric breakdown.

Calories - 2742
82 grams fat (26.91%)
250 grams carbs (36.49%)
251 grams protein (36.61%)

I had to give myself a big ole pat on the back today.

Default Day 4, Incline what?!

Today was day 4 of the 12 week Team Torture evilness! In the gym today it was 'chest/triceps/abs' along with some cardio and there was good and bad news. The good news is my strength was up on the heavy presses and that my cardio was easy, the bad news is that I am REALLLLY doubting if I should be doing some of the exercises with a recently recovered shoulder. Will talk to EME more about the ones in question (db flies and low cable crossover)

Exercises

Incline Barbell Bench - 115x10, 165x6, 165x6
DB Bench Press - 50x12, 55x12, 60x12
SUPERSET WITH
DB Flies - 20x12, 20x12, 20x12
Low Cable Crossover - 40x12 **
Skullcrushers - 50x12, 55x12, 65x12
Cable Pressdowns - 120x12, 140x12, 160x12
Dumbell Kickbacks - 15x12, 20x12, 20x12
Hanging Leg Raises - 3 sets of 15
Decline Crunches - 3 sets of 15

CARDIO

30 minutes Treadmill, 15 incline, 3.1 mph

** Low cable crossovers gave me an instant pain in my shoulder so I discontinued them. This was a VERY light weight used as well. I'm going to talk to EME to see his thoughts about whether db flies and cable crossover are good for my shoulder right now.

** Weights right now are still in progress trying to find the proper working weights.

** Goal with treadmill is to every week up the speed, this week will all be 3.1mph, then next week at 3.2mph.

Diet

Water Intake - 2.5 gallons

2992 Calories
- 85 grams of fat or 25.56%
- 190 grams of carbs or 25.40%
- 367 grams of protein or 49.06%

Day 4 diet was on dialed in like Mustafa's quads on competition day, I think I am getting used to the food items on my menu, and it is only day 4!

Weight
AM Weight - 293.6
PM Weight - 294.0

Default Day 6 Update (late update, fell asleep early)

Today was day 6 of the 12 week journey to torture my fat away, hehe. Today was 'shoulders/abs' along with the usual incline treaddin!

Exercises

Seated DB Mil. Press 50x6, 50x6, 55x6, 55x6
Upright Rows 55x6, 60x6, 60x6, 65x6 **
Triple Threat 15x10, 15x10, 15x10
Hanging Leg Raises 3 sets of 20
Flat Crunches 4 set of 20 (oops, did one too many sets)

** Upright rows I purposely went light on as they are pretty intensive on my shoulder. No pain on them though, but did them nice and slow, good form.

Triple threat, if you don't remember, is the following :a supersetting of Front DB Raises, Side DB Raises, and Rear Delt Db Raises.

CARDIO

30 minutes Treadmill, 15 incline, 3.2 mph (will be sticking at 3.2 until next monday)

Diet

Water Intake - 1.25 gallons, EEP kinda low

2995 Calories (30 calories over for the day, had about an ounce too much ground turkey)
- 85 grams of fat or 25.54%
- 240 grams of carbs or 32.05%
- 318 grams of protein or 42.47%

Weight
AM Weight - 292.8
PM Weight - 294.2

** I think the PM weight was up due to lower water intake possibly causing some retention.

Overall, a good day. I slept HARD after my last meal, hehe.
