| FDU Devils Weightlifter | weighed in after waking up and doing my morning duty. I slept later then I wanted to but I needed the rest anyhow. At 11:30AM I was 84.9kg, just under the weightclass. So, I'll stop eating at like 5 or 6 and stop drinking water then.

| FDU Devils Weightlifter | coach brings his camera to all the meets he goes to so there should be video. At worst, if he doesn't have it, I should have pictures from a few friends and I'll ask one to videotape them all. yeah I had like 4litres from 11:30-6 so I think I'm good. =D

| FDU Devils Weightlifter | Alright, so my ride was late in picking me up, and I was thouroughly soaked when I got to weighins. But all was well. I weighed in at 84.28kg or roughly 185.4lbs. Afterwords, I pounded the water and ate some stuff. Warmups began at around 10:30, and I did some work, working up to 50, and took 55 before I took it for my opener. Smoked my opening attempt of 55kg. I got redlighted by the head judge 'for not following the bar down' and my coach chewed him out. The rest of my attempts I made sure to follow it down. Still had the attempt, 2 white to 1 red. Took 50 for a powersnatch to stay warm because it was another 6 people before I had to take 60. Powersnatched 60 like it was nothing. Called for 63 to end and I missed it behind. Later Coach told me that had I sat down more I would have kept it, but other then that it was great. about an hour wait before the clean and jerks began. Called for 75 to open with. I was so hyped up for it that I powercleaned it like it was a joke. Jerk was kinda unsteady but I nothing to bad. Called for 80 and smoked it. Jerk was insanely easy. Called for 85 and was really pysched to go for it. I cleaned it, but the rack was poor and out in front, and when I went to reset my gripto jerk and pulled the bar back into position, it knocked me off back and I bent my back t otry and keep it but ended up dropping it. Kinda mad that I didn't get to even try jerking it. Oh well, PR for Cleans anyhow. so, overall: Bodyweight - 84.28 Snatch 1- 55 2W1R 2- 60 3W 3- 63 3R (lost behind) Clean and Jerk 1- 75 3W 2- 80 3W 3- 85 3R [no attempt at jerk] Decent day for me. I'll be making 70 and 90 in a few weeks time. =D Definitely enjoyed the competition atmosphere and the comradery. A few other lifters I knew where there, Lou, Pete, Dave and Chad. Pete won the Junior 69's easily, Lou missed 110 and 112 for the snatch, but had 107 to fall back on. He made 135 and missed the jerk on 140 and got pinned on the clean for 145. He missed totaling for nationals with that. Dave made if I remember 115 and 140, but missed 145 on the clean as well. Chad was going to try and qualify for nationals but he bombed out inthe snatch. I've never seen him miss 130 and 132 like that. We went on and did the clean and jerk portion, just for the sake of it. He made 150-158 and missed the jerk on 160. He's a beast, weighing only 91. funny thing was his openers were after everyone else in the 94 and up category finished. :bshot: fun stuff. Now to set my sights on the FDU open in January during winter break. =D

There was a few people there with cameras and I'm hoping they will be kind enough to put them up on youtube shortly. I know at LEAST one was on during my session and there should also be some pictures from others too as soon as I find them on google I'm quite sad that the results haven't been posted anyhwere yet... not on the LBH site nor on fortified iron, goheavy or weightliftingexchange ![]()

| FDU Devils Weightlifter | went to my chiro, back is doing good, ill be going heavy next week. We got two refurbished PowerLift (name of company, makes decent powerracks and good platforms) platforms in today and our two really old Samson ones are now out in the main room w/ the doubleracks. So, today I got to use the new IronGrip bar on the new platform. Overall : decent bar, it feels a bit thicker then the eleikos and doesn't spin as freely as the eleikos, but it spins well enough to snatch. IMO not whippy enough to do a heavy jerk. Very good bar to back squat with, and such, but IMO wouldn't use it as a competition bar. workout- bar work Full Squat Snatchs 40x2x5 45x2x3 50x2x1 [easy] Clean and Jerks 50x2x4 55x2x3 [2nd set, 2nd clean buried my in the bck and I was hopping to keep it, lol!] 60x2x2 Back Squats 50x9 70x6 90x4x2 [easy as cake] Push Press 50x3x2 fun day. 85.7kg bw end of workout. some freshman came in near the end of my workout and asked the S&C coach about learning the olympic lifts. So she will probably show up Saturday to talk with Coach Nick (the OL coach) and start up. She's doing it to help her with track. Nick has been trying to recruit girls to get a girls team for FDU up and running and one jsut comes out and volleenteers (**** I can't spell!). He will be incredibly happy.

| FDU Devils Weightlifter | Squat Snatchs 40x3x3 45x3x10 [1 hour of snatching PR] Back Squats 60x8 80x6 100x3x3 [easy! fast out of the bottom, felt great] Rack Jerks 60x3x5 [last set = best form ever] GHR situps and GM's w/ 60kg +stretching 85.0kg at end of workout, I keep losing, this is great. basketball later today. snatchs were working on start position and snapping under. Very fast under the bar today, bottom position was amazing as long as start was good. good day. I'll make some really good snatchs in the coming weeks, Ican feel it.
