I don't have a problem staying motivated in the gym and to push myself harder and harder each time I go, so DC is perfect for someone like me (I really liked Max-OT too, I saw good gains with it). I have kind of made my own adaptation for what works for me, and I could probably see better gains if I stuck to the program verbatim, but I can't seem to just go every other day. I do cardio 5 days a week in the mornings when I get off of work, so doing cardio on my 'off' days wouldn't really work for me. So I'm doing the basic DC layout, just doing it 4 or 5 days a week (monday: chest, tues: shoulders/triceps, wed: back/bi's, thurs: sometimes off, fri: legs). If I can ever get my diet dialed in (read: quit eating like shit), then hopefully I'll be a force to be reckoned with. | |

| IronMass Donator | Did chest on thursday, it was unimpressive. Had friends over for the weekend, drank a few too many margaritas, ate too poorly, etc... Had a GREAT back day yesterday (I'm actually sore along my lats, which is rare). I'll post the numbers later. I'm about to go do legs. I've also dropped my Lipodrene for a while, my tolerance for ephedra was getting pretty high. I'm going to do the 'animal pump' thing for a while with some 'red acid' for a burner/energy. |

| IronMass Donator | Numbers from last week: Back - Iso Row: 17 x 312 (new pb) cable lat pulldown 8 x 220 tbar row - 13 x 145 (pb) db row - 12 x 110's (pb) incline curls - 8 x 40's preacher curls - 8 x 80 (I was toast at this point) Legs: Smith Squat (to the floor): 12 x 50, 10 x 135, 6 x 185 hack squat - 2 x 8 x 3 plates leg curl - 10 x 185 leg extension: 10 x 285, 8 x 295 (full stack, new pb) donkey calf: 2 x 12 x 760 I did some chest on thursday with a flat bench, I worked out with a powerlifter and after doing 2 x 3 x 275 (my 1 rep max from 6 months ago) I got within a hair of hitting 300. Not sure why my ego demands I max out, but next time I do chest, I am going to try and get a max of 305 (I won't do so many working sets leading up to it). I know it's not shit for most people, but I'm within spitting distance of 3 plates, which is a huge milestone to me. I am currently drunk off of pear cider and irish car bombs, so back off one wagon and into another tomorrow. |

| IronMass Donator | This past week hasn't been great for working out. We are refinancing the house and had to deal with all the bull that comes with that. I did some maint. workouts though the week, mostly because I was dog ass tired and just couldn't get into DC this week. I got some sleep yesterday though and went and did chest today (last week I got to work out with power lifter and hit a new pb on the bench - I did 6 with 275 on the flat bench (my 1 rep max from a year ago) and then nailed 300. I really think I could hit 310 if I didn't waste myself so bad building up to it. ) Today: Flat bb bench: 2 x 8 x 225, 2 x 6 x 225 incline db: 8 x 60's, 8 x 90's, 6 x 100's decline bb bench: 14 x 185 seated overhead tricep extension: 20 x 90 (trying to get a number in there) seated dip machine, 3 x 10 x 250 Food wasn't that bad today. I'm going to the store in the morning and buying about 12 lbs of chicken and some more propane and make food for the week. I'm thinking about doing a clean keto type thing for a couple of weeks to see if I can't shed some pounds. |

| IronMass Donator | I didn't actually drop off the face of the earth. I've been doing maint. work and tons of cardio, diet comes and goes, nothing new there. I was talking to this big ole power lifter at my gym and he complimented me on my work ethic, and then said "do you have a problem losing weight?" to which I replied "yeah, I seem to hover around the same weight all the time" and he said something I didn't want to hear: "Bro, you are probably overtraining like a mother****er. Cardio and lifting 5 days a week for months?" Sooooo.... I'm taking a week off from both. I'm just going to get lots of sleep and try and keep my diet straight as an arrow and then really punish it when I go back in a week. I'm not really sure how I'm going to feel taking a week off from lifting. It has become such an integral part of my daily routine that, to be honest, I'm kinda scared of slipping into a funk. I love lifting, and I actually enjoy the cardio too. But I think my buddy is right, I'm probably overtraining and haven't noticed it at all. So, wish me luck and I'll be back in a week. Chris |

I try to take off for one week every 8-10 weeks. During that week I walk a good bit. Nothing stressful, just pleasure hikes. I have been thinking about taking up kayaking. There are a few pretty lakes around here that are good for that. Enjoy your rest. *

| IronMass Donator | ARGHHHH! THIS IS DRIVING ME NUTS! I know it's only monday, but shit, this sucks! I am going to be monitoring my calories throughout the week like a hawk watches a field, I am quickly realizing that part of my problem is that I'm not eating nearly enough. I will adjust and see how this week turns out. If I can hit about 2600 calories I should be good for this week and try and do about 3000 next week when I'm back at the gym. |

| IronMass Donator | I am back in the saddle again! Went and did 10 minutes on the evil stairmaster machine, then 35 minutes on the treadmill. Last week I could tell I had lost some weight and I didn't really alter my diet at all, so that tells me that my work out calories are waaaaay too low, so I've bit the bullet and bought myself a consultation with EME to help me put a diet together. In the mean time while I'm waiting to hear from him, I'm grilling up 6 lbs of chicken right now and I have a huge stash of tuna. To hit 3000 calories a day, I'm really going to have to work for it! Today is chest and I have a workout partner this afternoon, so we should be able to go HEAVY! After a week of rest, I'm ready to spit fire and move some metal around! |

| IronMass Donator | My little morning of grilling chicken came back to bite me in the ass. I ended up not even crawling in bed till about 1 in the afternoon, and got back up at 6 to go to the gym. Had to return a few phone calls and a few e-mails before I left so it was 7:20 before I got there, and I had to to leave the gym at 8 to get to work. So we did some flat bench (got 275 for 3.5, 255 for 6) and some cable work and headed out. Did 45 minutes on the treadmill this morning. I'm about to head out and do back and biceps. I also got my pre-plan workout questionaire from EME today and sent that back to him, so I'm excited to see what he puts together for me. Chris |

| IronMass Donator | Did some back today, didn't have alot of time as usual so I did some pulls, some iso pulldowns, and some db rows and had to jet. Hopefully I can get to the gym earlier tomorrow so I can get a real workout in. |
