I think that is probably the reason why having to many barbell exercises especially squatting and deadlifting can be to physically demanding on the body leaving it fatigued and weak for the training of the other body parts in our programs. That is why I have always felt it is better to have good mix of DB, BB, and machine exercises in a workout. It gives the body a nice balance and provides different environments to adapt too.

Did not have the time or were you drained from the day? Are you going to switch it to another day in the week?

Every once and a while an extra little of rest is needed to recover. Keeping up the same exercise routine for week after week can be draining on the body. I admit it becomes draining on me after a while and it is hard for me to take that extra little bit of rest. When I do I usually come back to working out with my body feeling better and stronger on my lifts.

You want to mix things up, do some centuries (100 rep sets) I always add some decent muscle when doing them, plus the lactic acid encourages healing.

Nice workout. Smart decision prolonged heavy lifting can take its toll on the joints. It is better to switch it up every once and a while and reduce the stress on them from the heavy weight.

Good Workout I noticed you shorted the rest periods between your sets how is that working out. I know you were going to go to more endurance to let your joints have a little rest.

Monday 6/11/07

Shoulders

Freedom Trainer Military Press - seated
125x25
170x20
200x15
230x12
275x8
305x6

Cable/Rope Upright Rows

DB Side Laterals - seated and palms rear facing

40s x 8
40s x 8

DB Front Laterals - seated, palms up at 45 degree angle
40s x 10
40s x 10
40s x 10

DB Rear Laterals - standing
50s x 10
50s x 10
50s x 10

Smith BB Behind-the-Neck Presses
135x15
135x15
135x15

Abdominals

Freedom Trainer Trunk Rotations - seated
95x12
95x12
95x12

Blasted my delts pretty good today. Using a cable machine for military presses was interesting. It really forced me to use my delts for remaining stable. It's hard to control the wobble while pressing, especially at the top of the movement. It should translate to better DB presses that way.
