Hey Guys,

Thanks for all the well wishes!!

Tomorrow night will be the first Chest and Shoulders training since the tear!

Don't worry, it will be extremely light, and probably not much more than going through the range of motion with the lightest resistance possible on the Hammer Strength and Life Fitness machines.

But, it's going to feel great ( and probably a little scary ) to be moving weight again with my chest and shoulders.

I'll let you all know how it goes tomorrow night! :fingersxd

Thanks!

There are many exercises I will probably never do again as a result of this.
Not that the exercises themselves are bad, but I just will not risk further injury in my particular situation. I will probably never do heavy bench press or incline press again. I'll also probably never do heavy behind the neck Military Press again. We'll just have to see how it goes on things like flyes and dumbbell presses. I have talked to some people with this injury that no longer do those either.

I will also do much more stretching and warming up than I ever did in the past.

As for why I am drug free, I just say No to drugs.

Seriously though.... I don't use any illegal drugs at all ( bodybuilding or otherwise ) and I won't use any supplement or compound that is banned in the organizations where I compete. It's a personal choice I have made. I have no problem with other people's decisions to use what they chosse, I have just personally chosen not to use any illegal substances.

Thanks again.

PROD1GY, you are free to make your own choices.
Please respect my right to make my own as well.

I compete as a drug free bodybuilder in drug free competitions where most legal OTC hormones are not allowed. Even the ones that have not technically been banned pose the risk of resulting in a positive drug test.

I will not use anything that could possibly be considered cheating, or possibly result in failed drug test in the organizations where I compete.

I am very pleased with my results from legal training and nutrition methods and I have no desire to take anything that is not allowed.

Thanks Trick!

My first Chest / Shoulders / Tricep workout is now in the books.

Here's what I did:

Life Fitness Seated Chest Press - 5 Sets, 10 - 15 reps

Life Fitness Seated Front Shoulder Press - 5 Sets, 10- 15 reps

Dumbbell Front Laterals - 3 Sets, 10 -15 Reps

Dumbbell Side Laterals - 3 Sets, 10-15 Reps

Upright Rows - 3 Sets, 10 - 15 Reps

Cable Pressdowns - 5 Sets, 10 - 15 Reps

Dumbbell Kickbacks - 3 Sets, 10 - 15 Reps.

Very light weights on everything; 10lb Dumbbells for most of the exercises above, and I went up to about 50 lbs on the Chest and Shoulder Press machines. Just enough to get some resistance and test everything out.

Here's a quick pic snapped after we got home.

I have a long way to go to get back to my former shape, but it's actually not as bad as I thought it would be. I've experienced lots of Chest Muscle atrophy, and unfortunately the muscle has been replaced with a lot of fat.

Time to do something about that though!

Now that I can train my entire body again, I am going to start cutting and getting my bodyfat back down to a respectable level. Once everything is tightened up again, I'll start working on adding back the mass.

This is similar to what I'm dealing with now, though my situation pales in comparison. I just found out that my rotator cuff has a tear which is going to put me out of anything upper body related for 4 months (hopefully a high estimate)

So I'm going to be becoming a cardio bunny and use this as an opportunity to keep dropping the pounds while maintaining leg/abs work. HOPEFULLY I won't lose tons of muscle on the process, but it is a valid fear at this point.

BUT.. I'm glad you are getting better man

Josh
