Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 51 | Hey Lift, Slowly getting better each day. I've been able to get dressed for work for the last three days with no assistance at all. Before this week I had a lot of difficulty with things like buttoning buttons on a dress shirt, putting on a belt, tying shoes, etc.... basically anything requiring two hands. This week I've been strong enough to do all these things myself. Unfortunately, getting dressed is the most physically demanding thing I do each day right now. But, just two more weeks of wearing this sling and I should be able to increase my activity level. Getting better....slowly but surely. ![]() Thanks for checking in! - EME

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 51 | Well, here's an eye opener for you regarding just how fast atrophy happens. I decided to go ahead take a couple measurements for documentation purposes. The week before my tear, both my left and right arms measured 16.75 in. cold. Today, one month after the tear, here are my measurements: Right Arm: 15.75 in cold. - 1.0 inch Left Arm: 14.25 in cold. - 2.5 inches ![]() As of this week, I started doing some movement with my left arm to get it going again. Three times per day, I have been doing a curl motion with no weight, flexing by bicep at the top of the movement, and flexing my tricep at the bottom of the movement. I'm doing 1 set of 20, 3 times per day. Believe it or not, this small amount of activity is already starting to fill my arm back out. When I first started this, I literaly could not see almost any tricep shape on my arm... a small V, but no horseshoe. Since I have been doing this daily, the horseshoe shape has already returned, and the rear head of the muscle is noticeably bigger. This is actually why I decided to measure today. I feel like I'm on the upswing now and I wanted to document my arm size at it's smallest. I'll continue to measure weekly and post the results. Wow.... 2.5 inches lost in 4 weeks. Amazing. - EME

I wonder if the fact that you are recovering from a pretty tramatic injury increases the atrophy to the rest of your body. Your body must be working ovretime to repair the damage.... Your body is always renewing your muscle cells, I imagine it is somewhat distracted from it's normal process right now... When I tore my bicep I was suprised at how much mass I kept. I couldn't do anything that required using my arm. I feel that doing heavy squats, and other leg work helped greatly... | |

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 41 | Sounds good. I've only tried the Chocolate flavour of Elite Whey and recently ordered the Mocha flavour, as the chocolate wasn't bad at all. I've also had the pleasure of enjoying the Mega Milk. I've only tried chocolate and it tastes awesome with skim milk. I use it as my last meal. I've also recently ordered the Cookies and Cream flavour of this and am waiting for arrival. Have you tried the Mega Milk selections before? And if so, what do you think of it?

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 51 | Nope, I haven't tried the Mega Milk. I generally only use two Protein powders: ON 100% Whey Double Chocolate Flavor with Skim Milk when mass building. Dymatize Elite Whey Dreamsicle Flavor with cold water when cutting. I like both of those very well, so I pretty much stick with them. - EME Quote:

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 9 | I have yet to post in this thread about your injury, but I still have been reading. Good luck with your recovery. It's sad to hear about an injury as you were quickly gaining mass and size. I'm sure you will be back in no time and hitting those weights hard and heavy again. |

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 3 | Man EME, this is first time I've ever looked at this thread. I heard about the tear but man. I'm impressed with your intrinsic motivation aftera tear like that. You are a good man for remaining loyal to training after that. Best of luck man, hope you heal up quick and get bigger then ever. Fred
