Looking great at the gym!

One question about your diet though, since your bulking up, do you think your not getting enough carbs? 281g seems too less.

Hey AYung,

Thanks.

That will really depend on how I progress.
Over the 33 weeks prior to begininng my mass building phase I was taking in much fewer carbs daily.. generally around 160-180g daily while I was preparing for the two competitions I did earlier this year.

For the initial stages of my mass building phase I wanted to significantly increase my carb intake, but not necessarily up to my max intake level right at first.

I have actually already increased the intake up to about 300-320g daily, and eventually I'll probably take it as high as 400g daily as my weight increases.

Thanks BigD!

You're doing great too, been following along on your progress in your log as well.

Moved up to 185 on SLDL's and Bent Over Rows tonight.

Not real heavy yet, I know.. but I had been doing 135 for reps for the past 8 months while cutting, so I've gone up about 50 lbs in 4 weeks.

Thanks!

Default Major Announcement !!

Hey Everyone,

I have decided that I will be doing my first WNSO Pro Show at the 2006 FAME World Championships in Toronto, Canada June 16th - 18th.

I actually wanted to sit out next year to put on size and do my first Pro Show in 2007, but I recently found out that I am contractually obligated to compete in 2006 to keep my Pro status with the WNSO.

I pondered the idea of letting my Pro status go... but I have decided I definitely don't want to do that, and have to start all over again trying to earn it.

So, I have dedicated myself to coming in, in my personal best possible condition for next June.

I know that even in my best shape I am going to be somewhat undersized compared to a lot of the guys I'll be competing against. You'd be surprised how big the top WNSO pros actually are.

However, I'm not going to focus on placing, and instead simply focus on being in my absolute best condition.

This is a HUGE competition, held on a Mr. Olympia type stage, in conjuction with a huge amateur show ( several hundred amateur competitors ), and a HUGE Arnold Classic style expo. Last year there were over 400 exhibitors at the expo.

It will be an honor to be on the stage.

So.... to make a long story short.

This thread has now become the "Countdown to EME's first Pro Show" thread!

I'll continue Mass building through December or January, depending on how things come along... and then start cutting in Late January to early February.. so I can cut really slowly and really come in Ripped without losing any new mass.

So... on with the log.. with new dedication and purpose!!! :bb:

As for training..

Finally back to my regular routine after being off most of the last week for Kendra's competition.

Weight is about 181-182.

Size and Strength continue to go up, but I've noticed a lot of extra water retention and I'm putting on some fat in the lower abs ( where it always comes back first on me ) I'd guestimate my body fat to be around 8-10%... but in reality, a lot of the extra smoothness may just be from water retention and not really fat.

No big deal though. Everywhere else still looks pretty good.
I still have visible striations in my delts, some veins in my lower ab area,
Back veins are much less visible but I still have spider web veins throughout my chest and shoulder when I have a pump and veins throughout my legs when I'm warm enough.

I'll take the next set of gym pics and measurements around the first week of October.

- EME

Thanks Trick!

From what I hear, the show really is a good time.

Monica Brant appeared at last year's show, as well as Lee Labrada and a bunch of other IFBB Pro's and other celebrities.

That would be cool if you could make it! I think Josie and Dark Falcon are from Canada too, but I have no idea where.

Anyway... time to really step it up now!

Default Diet Modifications

Since my time table for mass building has been slightly shortened due to my decision to compete again earlier than planned, I have made some changes to my diet to get more out of the next 12 weeks.

New Calorie and Macro intake for the next 12 weeks.

392g Protein - 39%
435g Carbs - 44%
76.5g Fat - 17%

Total Calories: 3997

Weight currently at 182.
Strength continuing to go up on everything.

I've also modified my training schedule to add a second day of legs per week.

Day 1: Heavy compound movements
Squats
SLDL
Leg Press
Hack Squats

Day 2: Isololation exercises consisting mostly of drop sets on Leg Extensions and Seated Leg Curls.

New measurements coming next week.

Default Pro Show Preparation - Full 8 Month Diet and Training Program

I have posted at the link below the full Diet and Training Program I will use over the next 8 months as I prepare for my first Natural Pro Show.

It's a lot of info to absorb, but for those who are interested, please take a look at the link below.

There are 5 phases of the program beginning with my current mass building phase, and continuing up until the last week before the show.

Note: you Navigate through the different phases using the tabs at the bottom of the web page that opens.

http://michaelandkendra.com/Michael/...ndTraining.htm

I will monitor my progress and make any necessary adjustments as I go along.

I intend to take my contest prep and conditioning for this show to a whole other level beyond anything I have achieved to date. :weight_li

Feel free to ask any questions you may have.

Great log. This is kind of scary. Right now you have less bodyfat but our bodies are like almost identical. Very strange, I will get some pics up. I will not be as cut out as you but I'm about 12% right now, maybe 10-11% but this is a great natural log. Have you ever taken anything besides just protein/creatine? Good luck and I'll be keepin an eye on this one.

Hey Fred.

Thanks for following my log!

I just posted in your intro thread. You're about 20 lbs heavier than I am right now, but I plan on being about 200 and somewhere in the 12% range around the first of the year, before I start cutting again.

I have used PH's in the past, but I don't use anything that isn't currently legal for over the counter sale , and I won't use anything that isn't legal for the drug tested competitions that I compete in.

So, that means I don't use any prescription AAS, Former PH's that are now banned, GH, Beta 2 Agonists such as Clenbuterol, No "Research Chemicals", etc...

I'm not against using any of the currently legal anabolics that are out, provided they won't show up a false positive for a banned substance.
I don't have enough info about most of them to make a good decision in that regard though.

Thanks again for following!

I quit when the ban came. Let me tell ya, I don't think you are missing a thing. I say this for two reasons, 1# you look great, and 2# by my own experience, I have learned more and advanced more since giving up ph. There is something about sacrificing something like ph that forces you to push an learn more in other departments.

Keep up the good work, thanks for inspiring the crew here, and congrats on your decision to attend a pro show.
