Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 128 | 5/7/08 Wednesday Went in to do some cardio today and my mind/body just was not into it... especially after training legs yesterday. Did some other stuff instead.... Weighted Calf Raises [seated calf and 45* seated calf] 10-12 sets of 15-20 reps each. I wasn't really paying attention. Chin-Ups 6 sets of 5 reps [bodyweight] *3 hours later* Power Yoga - 90 minutes *that was pretty ass-kicking... and the instructor is a hottie... so that's really good motivation to come back next week, lol |

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 128 | Thanks X. My goal for OH press today was either 130x6, 140x2, or 145x1. When I did the 145x1, I knew I had at least another rep in me... to my surprise I had even more than that! LOL, no complaints though, and I was happy that 155 went up too. I've been feeling pretty strong on my closegrips lately, even though I've been doing them after my OH presses. My shoulders are a bigger priority right now though, so I'm going to keep them in the beginning of the workout for now. |

BB Row 140x15 175x7 (+10lbs, +2 reps) 190x1 175x5 *on the 190 set, my back left parallel (rose about 30* above) so I stopped the set and didn't count it as a PR. The pulling strength is there, but my lower back fatigue showed from my inability to maintain a rigid parallel platform to pull against. WG Pullups BWx15 (+3 reps) BWx10 Stiff Arm Lat Pulldown 90x20 Smith Hise Shrugs '115'x20 '165'x20 DB Shrugs 95x7 Seated Rear Delt DB Raises 20x10 20x10 45* Seated Calf 90x35 *those last 5 were absolute hell.... in a good way ![]() Solid session today, despite having only 1 meal in me (3 eggs, 2 pieces toast, 1 apple). Attitude and mental mindset are such an underrated aspect of lifting. |

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 183 | Oh I see you did do those Hise Shrugs for 20 reps, I'll have to try that as well. I like how you did the '115' and '165' for the smith machine, that's how I do it as well!

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 128 | yea, I did 20 reps... I was going to work down to ~15, but by the time I did the '165'x20, I figured I had done a good amount of volume, especially considering my traps were incredibly sore going into this workout from (1) supporting the new weight for squats on Tuesday, and (2) power yoga on Wednesday. and I got the inspiration for the quotes on the smith machine weights from your log ![]() |

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 128 | Sunday 5/11/08 Cardio - Stationary Bike 35 minutes 12.60 miles Avg HR 155-165, end HR 135 Pull-Ups *well short of failure BWx10 BWx5 BWx5 BWx5 45* Seated Calf 230x15 230x15 Standing Smith Calf Raises '135'x20 '135'x20 *I alternated all the sets of pullups and calf raises. Cardio was better than ever today, instead of hitting a slump I'd just breath harder and push myself more than I thought I could. When the breaths started getting really deep, I could feel the sting in my lungs from the years of marijuana smoke. Over the past couple of weeks I've actually broken away from it, as I was even smoking everyday all through the IMPC (even multiple times a day). It's nice every once in a while, but I just got bored with it. My lungs are thanking me. Thanks, they felt pretty solid and I felt more control over the weight than ever before.
