Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 128 | ok, it's official. I can't stand my gym anymore (24 hour fitness). I've been to 24's that I enjoy working out at, but not this one.... not even gonna bother saying why. I have no desire to lift there. I'm looking into my other options now. today's workout... 2/1/08 Friday Bench Press 45x15 95x8 115x8 140x17 185x1 - I wanted to see how many times I could rep my bodyweight.... 18 probably would have been absolute failure, but 17 is good enough. My goal is 20. Inc DB Press 65x6 60x10 Rack Pulls 135x8 185x8 225x5 275x5 315x5 385x5 CG Pulldown 130x12 130x10 just called it. At least I hit 2 PRs. It's gonna be great when I cancel my membership and they ask me why. ![]() |

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 128 | Tuesday, 2/5/08 Yoga, 90 mins I got into an intermediate yoga class, the teacher is awesome and I can tell that this is going to be a great class. Once a week for ~90 mins. I did well today, especially for my first extended yoga session in a long time. I hit some poses that I have not been able to in the past. The teacher gave me some complements at the end too ![]() I see that I'm at 2,000 posts now... I will celebrate with a deep slumber! g'night everybody It's just a circus in there..... DB's are all over the place, and unless you go at random hours, it's a huge process just trying to get a piece of equipment. The bar in the area for deadlifts has no knurling, and the only good bars for deads are either the ones on the bench press or the one in the singular power rack which is usually occupied by quarter-squatters. To top it all off, the atmosphere in the gym does not give me that drive (don't know how else to put it.... other gyms I've trained at in my past just made me wanna LIFT the second I walked in... or just on my way there, knowing I was going to be lifting in that atmosphere/environment). Oh yeah, takes me ~45 mins at least to get there (walk to bus stop, wait for bus, take bus, walk from bus stop to gym). There are other places to lift in this city, the 24 Hour Fitness's here just don't cut it for me... what I wrote is really just a piece of the problem here. I'm gonna work out there tomorrow and then cancel my membership after I'm done. |

| FDU Devils Weightlifter | I hear ya Davtown, I can't lift in commercial gyms anymore, not even if I'm doing light work. The atmosphere is what is the most important thing. Plus I hate being the strongest guy in the gym (cmon a near 300 ATG squat SHOULDN'T be the best there...). I like lifting around guys like my teammates Rito and Chad, a 77kg and a 94kg lifter respectively. Both guys squat ATG 400+ for reps like cake. And chad has snatched 300+ lbs!

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 95 | sooo, are you still at the same gym? im in the same boat with you, but for slightly diff reasons. the atmosphere is beyond terrible. just makes me sick thinking about it. THeres really no other option for me though which sucks balls. THerse only one gym in my city, and if i go to one thats in the next door city, it would cost a bundle ( plus, the fee for not being a city resident).
