It's awesome. I didn't wanna strain myself too bad; I did back yesterday, so I didn't hit my shoulders too hard as I didn't wanna risk overtraining my traps. Also, I'm gonna start my new bench routine in 2 days, so I didn't wanna murder my tris. Just keep em fresh. ![]() On another note, I think I'm responding well to low volume... perhaps better than high volume. Hmmm....

Recipes: 1 Rep Power: 50 | FUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So I haven't workout out in 2 whole days. I had to skip both my quad and back/bi workouts for various reasons. So today I was going to do some squats finally. I was really looking forward to doing the HSAHT program for my squat, and dong some leg press and calves. So it's about noon, I had just eaten my carbs and I'm all hyped up to go squat, and I call my friend who I'm going to the gym with and when he picks up he asks me if I could follow him to a garage to drop off his car, and then we'd go to the gym. So I said yeah, and it ended up being 14 miles away from my house. So I drive there, we get there, AND THE GUY IS ON LUNCH BREAK. So we sit there for about a half hour waiting for the guy so my friend can sign some papers and whatnot. So I'm totally not hyped anymore. So my friend calls him for the umpteenth time and he answers and says we can just leave the car there after all. ![]() So I drive all the way back to my friends house, it's now been about 2 hours since I ate, he gets ready, and we get ready to go and I offer to give him a ride cuz I'm a cool guy. So we get to the gym, he starts benching, I go warm up for squats. I load up 240 and I'm feeling hyped up again. I do it twice, feel great, load up 200, do a couple sets and then.... my friend realizes he has to go to work in 45 minutes. And he lives 30 away from his work. And I'm his ride. Because he left his car at his house. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() So I have to leave in the middle of my workout, and give him a ride home. So my workout got ****ing trashed. I don't blame my friend, I just wish one of us had remembered he had work. Hammer Strength Iso-Lateral Low Row (Plate loaded, 6 second pauses) 90x5 (Underhand) 110x5 (Overhand) 140x4 (Overhand, no pauses) My arms are dead. lol my bis and forearms were really pumped and sore. I'm happy I stumbled upon doing paused contractions for my back workout, my lats, bis and forearms never got sore at all. Now there's no question they're getting hit HARD. I'm really surprised at this workout (and yesterdays) because I didn't even take my WTF Pump'd. Rack pulls were ok, I'm not sure if I hit any PRs since I haven't done them in a couple months. They were the first deadlift-esque movement I've done in a long time because my lower back has irritated me whenever I try to do them. I felt something in my lower back today, but not really an irritation or pain, more like a stimulation. Nevertheless I called it quits after 265x1, as it was intensifying and I wanted to play it safe. Surprisingly, I woke up with rather severe DOMS in my quads, glutes and hams, which made me really happy.

Seated Calf Raises (all reps done with 3 second contractions; less than 30 seconds between all sets) 90x10 135x10 90x10x5 Standing Calf Raises on Smith Machine (everything same as lest exercise) 135x10 225x10 275x10 315x4 Ran for a couple minutes. Running is def not best done after a grueling leg workout ![]() I videotaped my 225 set with my phone, and I was really happy to find that I was going a few inches deeper than parallel. ![]()

Recipes: 1 Rep Power: 50 | Deadlifts 135x5 185x5 225x3 245x3 265x2 285x2 305x1 315x1 This was the first time I've dead lifted in about a month or two because my lower back has been irritating me, but this was the best deadlifting day I've ever had. So many things just went right. 1) My lower back didn't irritate me the entire time, even on my 315 pull. 2) I worked on my form. I arched my back. Before I would just kinda get stiff and explode up with it and my back was really rounded. I kept it tight and arched all the way up. 3) My traps are sore from deads for the first time. 4) My forearms are starting to get sore. That's a first also. I think it was how I pyramided up that did it. On my working sets I only went up in 10-20 pound increments. I used to just like warm up with 135, then 225, then go to my working set. This was much more effective. It was fahkin great. ![]()

First time back on 5x5 for benching and I think 165x5x2 could be a PR? My incline DB was hilarious, I did more on seated DB shoulder press 2 days ago. I jumped on the incline too soon, my bis were really pumped and it made me lose my focus. I was going more for hypertrophy on the bi workouts.
