I may try and go for a heavy single on deads on Thursday, I've been reading up a lot on form and stuff. I wanna get some thick socks or some shin guards though, I have serious shin splints from a couple years ago and having the bar hit them hurts SO bad. I never got the bar close to my shins at all, I need to keep my hips down more, etc. So I decided to go for a big sumo pull today. Sumo Deads 135x3 185x3 225x1 275x1 315x0 (belted) *"ok... I'll use this to fuel my rage and get it next time"* 315x0 (belted) I'm very pissed off. Time to murder my weaknesses. Speed Deads 185x1 185x1 185x1 185x1 185x1 185x1 185x1 185x1 Good Mornings 115x5 115x5 115x5 115x5 115x5 - - - I can't believe I can't pull a meager 315. For someone weighing almost 200 lbs thats pretty bad. I need to train harder. A lot harder. I'll be crushed if my squat has gone down. Guess I'll see in a week or two.

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 97 | It's hard to judge your own deadlift form. The best advice I can give you is tape your deadlift and post it up here. On another note, i think you've seen my deadlift videos, and see that i use to do SLDL, and now im able to keep my hips down and prevent a SLDL. I think the thing that helped me out the most was snatch grip deads on a platform. Also, if you look at my or bigDmans deadlift vids, you can see that we do a little ''ass raise'' right before pulling. It really helps. just stick your ass up in the air as if you were goign to do a SLDL, then bring your hips down and pull. HTH

First thing was during a set, he said, "man, that's blow-out-your-knees deep." I let it go. Later on though, he started it up again. Here's basically how it went. Him: "Goddamn that's TERRIBLE for your back." Me: "Bullshit." H: "You're only supposed to go to parallel." M: "Dude you know that squatting deep is easier on your knees than stopping short, right?" H: *shakes his head* M: "Look at Olympic lifters. They squat ass-to-grass with 400 lbs on their shoulders and they're fine." H: "That's just because they have knee wraps." M: "No, that's power lifting and that gives them a weight advantage." H: " NO DUDE IT'S OLYMPIC LIFTING." I couldn't stop laughing right here and the kid just went off. I later saw him squat 245 for a solid 5 reps, but he failed to hit parallel every single time.
