Didn't stimulate the bis or forearms as much but it did the lats, and that was the idea. I like them like that.

Tate press went good, it's no substitute for CGBP but I like it when I don't have a spotter. Def better than any kind of pushdown lol.

I notice in speed squats that I'm still really slow out of the hole, but after about midway up I explode very fast. Weak posterior chain and very overpowering quads is what this says to me.

I've never really liked hypers, but today I focused on pulling with the hams rather than just extending the lower back and (gasp) my hams are way more taxed than my lower back. Imagine that.

Grip seems to have improved dramatically since last week. Went from 275x16 to 285x24, and 295x8 to 300x13.

Calves were cramping like a mofo, time to drink LOTS of water.

stop squats! I've seen the athletic teams do these and a few guys were mentioning how much easier it was to get out of the bottom since doing them. Literally going down and holding the bottom for 3-4 seconds.

like it, but I always considered pause squats to be like half a second or so, like how long or just a bit longer then I pause on the box. Stop squats you literally STOP andhold it for a while.

example, when I'm doing front/back squats, the first few reps I get down in the bottom and hold it for a long time and then I power/bounce out of the bottom.

yeah, example : one of the guys who just started lifting this semester for the team, he was doing like 230-250lbs for stop squats for like triples and 5's.

then coach is got them doing some ME days once a week w/ real squats... the kid tripled 308lbs like it was nothing. The guy has a damned good chance of breaking the school record for squats.. which is 255kg or 561lbs

A month?!?! I was expecting you to say like 3 months at least... Damn.

I was thinking earlier, I think it'd be a good idea to rotate squat movements each week. I'm thinking ATG stop squats one week, then super-wide low box squats the next. Lather rinse repeat. I think that'd make constant progression easier to achieve also.

Weak day, but I expected it since I've been sick since last Friday.

Worked out with a friend who is really good at BB rows, and he helped my form and gave me some pointers. Said my form was a bit angled on the first set, parallel on the last. Felt good. Main problems are keeping hips steady and maintaining a neutral back.

I'll do better next week.
