Recipes: 1 Rep Power: 50 | Haha good luck with that man. So I'm taking this week off and testing 1RMs for my main lifts next week. I hope to get: 315 Squat 185 Incline 335 Conv. Dead 200 Power Clean Rather optimistic on some but I feel I can do it if I do things right. Regardless of what I achieve, after next week my training is taking a back seat to my nutrition. I will still train with as much intensity as possible, and I may throw in a few extra hypertrophy based movements. But if I have to sacrifice a bit of my strength to keep my cals and carbs down then I'm going to grit my teeth and bear it. I'll be doing cardio every day as well. HIIT. I need to get my body composition and overall fitness in check. I'm tired of gaining weight. So please, starting with next Friday, I ask each and everyone of you, please help encourage myself in my nutrition log if I start to lose track of my eating or forget to post, etc. I need this for myself. I wanna be happy with my body.

I've been fat before and it's a psychological thing; I don't wanna be anywhere NEAR what I was before I started exercising. Any time my love handles start getting out of control a flag goes up in my mind. I'm not a bodybuilder, strength is more important to me than size. But I wanna be able to take off my shirt and feel good. I want abs, I always have. I just wanna get down to a pretty lean BF%, I'm shooting for 8%. I could give two shits about weight. You're just a bastard who has a perma-sixpack ![]() Just kidding man, I appreciate your advice. I need to commit regardless of what I do.

| FDU Devils Weightlifter | you do need to commit, but imo, the program you do doesn't mean much in lines of looking good naked (aka abs, no love handles etc...). i mean for ****s sake, I lost 20+lbs in 3months time training solely for strength and just tweaking my diet. And, I've gotten stronger. imo its also being confident with yourself. I got no problems taking my shirt off in front of people, but yeah I'm still fat. but you know what, I'm confident with myself and they don't care if I'm a touch fat. Hell most of the time I get comments on how big my shoulders look compared to when I have a shirt on, and how my back looks (my back is my leanest section of my body).

Still more emphasis on strength, so I might change a few things up but I like the idea of a powerbuilding routine. Thoughts?

Cardio every day, trading off HIIT and low intensity distance cardio every day. - - - Basically the exact template except I'm going to do singles on occasion, I work out 4 days a week and have a DE lower body day. Also, more cardio.
