So I'm taking this week off and testing 1RMs for my main lifts next week. I hope to get:

315 Squat
185 Incline
335 Conv. Dead
200 Power Clean

Rather optimistic on some but I feel I can do it if I do things right.

Regardless of what I achieve, after next week my training is taking a back seat to my nutrition. I will still train with as much intensity as possible, and I may throw in a few extra hypertrophy based movements. But if I have to sacrifice a bit of my strength to keep my cals and carbs down then I'm going to grit my teeth and bear it.

I'll be doing cardio every day as well. HIIT.

I need to get my body composition and overall fitness in check. I'm tired of gaining weight. So please, starting with next Friday, I ask each and everyone of you, please help encourage myself in my nutrition log if I start to lose track of my eating or forget to post, etc. I need this for myself. I wanna be happy with my body.

I think you need to sit down and evaluate what your goals really are. I understand you want to have a fit body, but i'd think that strength is more important to you. SO BULK UP NANCY

My goal is happiness man. I wanna feel good naked lol.

I've been fat before and it's a psychological thing; I don't wanna be anywhere NEAR what I was before I started exercising. Any time my love handles start getting out of control a flag goes up in my mind.

I'm not a bodybuilder, strength is more important to me than size. But I wanna be able to take off my shirt and feel good. I want abs, I always have. I just wanna get down to a pretty lean BF%, I'm shooting for 8%. I could give two shits about weight.

Just kidding man, I appreciate your advice. I need to commit regardless of what I do.

you do need to commit, but imo, the program you do doesn't mean much in lines of looking good naked (aka abs, no love handles etc...).

i mean for ****s sake, I lost 20+lbs in 3months time training solely for strength and just tweaking my diet. And, I've gotten stronger.

imo its also being confident with yourself. I got no problems taking my shirt off in front of people, but yeah I'm still fat.

but you know what, I'm confident with myself and they don't care if I'm a touch fat. Hell most of the time I get comments on how big my shoulders look compared to when I have a shirt on, and how my back looks (my back is my leanest section of my body).

You can get 185 incline and 335 deadlift easily man!!

I'm thinking about doin Westside For Skinny Bastards. I've been running the same split for a while now and I wouldn't mind adding some more meat to my frame. Still more emphasis on strength, so I might change a few things up but I like the idea of a powerbuilding routine.

Here's what I have in mind:

Sunday: ME Upper Body
  • ME Pressing movement (max set of 1-5)
  • Supplementary Pressing movement (3-4 sets of 6-10)
  • Horizontal Row (4 sets 10-15 reps)
  • Rear Delt/Upper Back (2-3 sets of 12-15)
  • Weighted Abs (3-4 sets of 8-15)
Monday: ME Lower Body
  • ME Squat/Pull (max set of 1-5)
  • Unilateral movement (3-4 sets of 8-15 reps)
  • Hamstring/Posterior Chain movement (3-4 sets of 6-10 reps)
  • Grip Training (3 sets of timed sets)
Wednesday: RE Upper Body
  • Repetition Pressing movement (3 sets of max reps)
  • Supplemental Triceps movement (3-4 sets of 5-10 reps)
  • Vertical Pulling (4 sets 8-12)
  • Medial Delt/Trap Exercise (3 sets 10-15 reps)
  • Elbow Flexion Exercise (3 sets 8-10)
  • Abdominal Training (3 circuits, 3 movements per circuit, no rest in between)
Thursday: DE Lower
  • DE Squat/Pull (8 sets of 3 reps; 45-60 second rests)
  • Hamstring/Posterior Chain movement (3-4 sets of 6-10 reps)
  • Calves (4 sets of 12-15 reps, slow eccentrics)
  • Grip Training (3 sets of timed sets)

Cardio every day, trading off HIIT and low intensity distance cardio every day.

Basically the exact template except I'm going to do singles on occasion, I work out 4 days a week and have a DE lower body day. Also, more cardio.
