Default A_N_91's Log

I made a previous log but it didn't turn out well because I got sick on and off so many times, I couldn't keep up with my training and my log. But now I thought I'd make another log.

This log is going to be a workout log, boxing log, and trumpet log. I don't know if you guys are gonna be instrested in a trumpet log, but I need to to get better, so I made a log for that too

Monday-Friday is my workouts. I do 3 exercises only in a circuit fashion. I do one pulling motion (pullups, chinups, etc.) then a pushing motion (pushups, diamond pushups, etc.) then a leg exercise (squats, lunges, etc.) Each day is a different variation but I don't change it weekly. I do them back to back 10 times. Monday-Friday I do 20 minute HIIT sprints and on weekends I do long distance runs.

Monday-Friday I also do boxing training. *Note that each round is 3 minutes* For now, I do 3 rounds of jump rope, 3 rounds of speed bag, and 3 rounds of shadowboxing. I hope to start sparring soon inside the ring

Monday-Friday I practice the trumpet. Some info is that I've been doing it for 6 years on/off but I've been having real problems the past few months so I haven't been doing any practicing at all. But now, I'm starting it up again. Each day I do about 30-45 minutes of slurs, long tones, etc.

I'm trying to stick with a diet strictly. Since I'm not for looks and more like function, I'm not as strict. But I try to eat around 2700 calories.

40 Minutes on Treadmill
10 Minutes Warmup
10 minute Mile
20 Minutes High Incline Walking

Comments-Did 10 minutes with a brisk walk just to get some blood flowing. I wasn't gonna go too hard today so I just went for a mile; 10 minutes. I wanted to go for another mile because I was feeling great, stamina-wise, but my puny calves couldn't keep up :bowed: So I just put the incline on the highest and walked for 20 minutes at around 3.5 MPH-4 MPH.

Something I've been thinking about today and I though I'd post.

I was wondering whether I would ever incoporate weights into my training. I don't think I will because I think that I could get enough punching power from hitting heavy bags. I mean, it's as specific as can get. To hit hard, I have to keep hitting. Example:to get a bigger bench, you have to bench.

Strength training combined with specific work will improve your game in all sports.

120 minutes minutes hiking
90 minutes walking up 4 miles
30 minutes jogging back down 4 miles

Comments-I went out with my parents picnicking and there was a hiking trail so I thought I'd go. It was VERY steep; I got a really good leg workout there. It was about 8 miles both up and down.

Later today I might go and do a quick mile just for the fun of it.

Also note that I saw a snake eat a frog and also spotted a black bear which scared me a bit. :crazy1:

I'm not saying it won't but (for now) I'd rather do 40 minutes extra of specific work than do weights, especially since I'm starting and don't have a good base for boxing.

19 minutes on treadmill
10 minutes warmup
9 minutes .94 miles

Comments-I had about .06 miles left to go but I threw up. After that I couldn't even walk. I was just lying on my back for like 10 minutes for all the pain in my stomach to go away.

25 minutes 3.5 MPH and 7.0 Incline on treadmill

10x3 cheat chinups
10x3 pushups
10x3 squats

Comments-Did 25 minute for some warming up but was on a high incline to work my calves which is my weakest point.

I didn't do HIIT because I got a charlie horse in my right calf and didn't want to work it that hard so I just did the easy walk.

I'm doing low reps because I want to gradually get higher. Next week I'll be doing 10x5 then 10x7 and so on until I get to 10x30 then I add a 25 lb. weight and start over from 10x3.

My only problem was I was getting weird feeling in my lower back during pushups, so I'm gonna start hitting my core soon.

No trumpet practices today since there was no school and I didn't bring it home on Friday. Also no boxing since it's memorial day.

10x3 cheat chinups
10x3 knuckle pushups
10x3 lunges

Comments-I did 10x3 for all as always; everything went fine, wasn't as tired as yesterday.

I also did 20 minutes of HIIT but I think I'm gonna start doing just 1 mile runs because HIIT on a treadmill doesn't work well.

3x3 Shadowboxing
3x3 Speed bag
3x3 Jumprope

Comments-I haven't been to boxing in about 6 days because of weekends when there closed and since the gym is in an elementary school, the school got plays and stuff so there were more closings.

I fixed some technical stuff like my stance when shadowboxing, jumpropes were fine, but I don't know why, I had a real pain doing the speed bag. Probably all the days I didn't go.

Also, I might not do any leg work at home because today I couldn't perform as well because my legs were tired from today and a bit sore from yesterday. I'm gonna do them for this week and see how this go. If I'm still bad, I'll stop them for a while.

Here's the exercises that I'm gonna be doing. Please tell me if I should switch any exercises or anything

*Note* Everything for this week is 10x3 and I keep adding reps weekly. And on Friday, everything is to failure.

Monday
Pushups
Squats

Chinup Cheats

Tuesday
Knuckle Pushups
Lunges

Chinup Static Holds

Wednesday
Pushups with hand on Plates
Wall Squats

Chinup Cheats

Thursday
Diamond Pushups
Long Lunges

Chinup Static Holds

Friday
Pushups
Squats

Chinups to Failure

For chinups, since I really can't do a lot of them (max maybe 3) I'm not gonna do those in my supersets. I'll be doing those after the pushups-squat superset.

5x3 Pushups with hands on plates
5x5 seconds Wall Squats
5x3 chinup cheats

1 Mile Run-12 minutes

Comments-Thought I'd make it 5 sets instead of 10 because I was very sore today from yesterday's workout. Everything is gonna be 5 sets for now.

I didn't go all out on the mile run, just went quickly but paced myself.

No trumpet practice at all this week. Teacher has some emergency so I can't get my trumpet from school since there's a sub.

3x3 shadowboxing
3x3 speed bag
3x3 jump rope
2x3 heavybag

Comments-I had an awesome workout today. Shadowboxing went good, fixed my my right cross and arm position. Speed bag work was awesome. It was the best work ever I've done on it. Consistent and fast speed. Jump ropes were really good. I usually get a bit winded but I was in good shape; those mile runs been helping me a lot It was also the first time working on the heavybag. I worked on 1, 1-1, 1-2, bobbing and weaving, 3, 2-3, and 1-2-3.

This has been one of my best workouts ever.

No workouts today. 90 degrees in my basement plus we just pained the walls and I don't wanna knock myself out from the fumes and heat :faint:

Still gonna be doing boxing; I'll post that later.

Right now I'm at a friend's house because my computer got fried in yesterday's thunderstorm badly. So I don't think I can be online for a few weeks; 3-5 weeks. I'll try to go at school but I think it's a blocked page there and library I'm not sure of yet.

Woot, I got some good news.

1.) At the library, it isn't blocked, that's why I'm making this post.

2.) Best Buy called me (I go for repairs there since I got their insurance) and they said it wasn't what they thought and only the power supply got fried bad and a bit of the CPU, but there replacing both. :dine: So I'll be getting it back probably tomorrow at 3ish.

No workouts today because I had to go to the airport to drop off my grandparents which was about 3 hours to get there and 4 hours to come back.

Also got my digi cam fixed so pics coming soon.
