Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 7 | Howdy folks! Long time no see... Just thought I'd take a minute to reintroduce myself. Name's Timdull2 and I was just popped onto the AX team! Seeing as nobody made a thread for me here yet, I took it upon myself to use my sometimes massive ego (and even bigger sense of humor!) to do it for myself! ![]() For those of you familiar with the AX boards, you'll definitely know me. I've also haunted a couple of others, and have been over here every so often. I hope to make more of a habit of that and come chill with y'all as much as I can. So, if you've got questions, we've got answers. And if we don't, we know who does. Hope to serve you all to the best of my abilities. LET'S GET THIS PARTY STARTED!! ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 35 | Tim, speaking of that chili recipe and cooking and stuff... I have some great habaneros this year and looking for some ideas on what to do with them. There's only so much pain one can stand eating them straight, and they don't freeze well if you want them fresh over the winter. I was thinking of making some hab hot sauce but you got any other ideas? (Fresh or to put them up for later enjoyment...?) Thanks, man...

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 7 | Gee...Hab recipes? Well, since it's my post, I'll go off-topic just a bit! HA!! Ideas...hmmm.....Ok! 1. Core and stuff with tuna salad/similar as party 'favors'. 2. Very awesome in homemade salsa. 3. Put them on the grill whole, burn the skin, peel and core. Flavor will transform! Personally, I'd incorporate them into different dishes. Always remember that hot and sweet are awesome combinations. Ever try hot and chocolate? Blows my mind!! I had some luck freezing them about a year ago when I last had my garden in. Blanch them quickly first (dunk in boiling water for a few seconds). Let them cool and dry. Pack together in a sangwich bag and wrap tightly with foil. That might do ya. I'll have to pop back into the recipe section sometime soon. Tons of grillin' tips, though the season is almost over. |
