Default Your personal best thread

In an attempt to provide encouragement and congratulations when it is deserved I am asking everyone to post any new PRs (personal bests). This would be in the areas of anything related to weightlifting or bodybuilding. I am particularly interested in hearing everyone's new personal records for any compound movements.

I'll go first since I had a new PR this afternoon, which is when I had the idea for this thread.

I love BB incline presses.

Today I completed 225x14.

I was very pleased since new PRs are always a lot of fun!

500 was hit a few weeks ago for my 1-RM as of age 19.

Working on getting 500 up to reps now.

Squats are going well, I got up around 540+ for 1-RM and Dead Lifts are around 560 or so.

My next attempt for 1-RM will be in 2 months. See how much it increase after the football season.

I didn't start benching over 500 until I was 23 years old.

If I can find a local meet. A drug-tested meet would even be better. It would be a DL or a DL and BP meet only. No more heavy squats for the p-man.

PM - what style of squatting did you typically use throught the years? I would guess wide stance going to parallel?
I always hear of guys having knee probs later on from squatting -something I would like to avoid

Do you supplement with glucosamine/chondritine, and other supplements of the sort at all for joint health?

Actually for a taller PLer I had a relatively narrow stance. Just a bit wider than shoulder width. I always went just below parallel since that is where a legal squat depth needs to be. I also used to do a squat variation after regular squats where I would set the bar high on my traps, put my feet almost side by side, and squat down ass to grass with 455 for sets of 6 reps. My best normal squat for reps was 510x10. Not so hot when compared to Platz doing 500x23.

I have taken joint supps off and on for years. Unfortunately today's supps weren't around when I was in my early twenties. I just started to take a Chondroitin, Glucosamine, and MSM supp for my increasing elbow pains.

Ahh, those are still killer numbers

My main gripe with squats is that going to parallel (shoulder width stance) kills my knees, so I have to either:

1. go ATG in shoulder width (which does not seem to hurt my knees, but puts alot of unwanted stress on my lower back/ankles, etc).

or

2. Squat parallel with a wide PLer stance - but being a bb'er this does not necessarily give me the growth I want in the right places (ie: I see more growth on my inner thighs and ass than anything with this stance).
