My suck @ss Deadlift : 365x1

I have never tried this for 25 yrs. It was at the end of my leg routine, so I could have maybe pulled another 10-15lbs. My goal is 400 by the end of summer.

I'm retiring from Deads and Squats for two reasons.

1. Chronic back problem

2. I've been at my genetic max potential for some time now and I don't get the benefit from these lifts anymore like you younger pups do. They are impairing the rest of my body from lifting heavy and without additional problems. It just ain't worth it no more and I will miss them.

No offense, I don't know your life. How old are you?

My lower back is an issue, but I have been training it and I am getting dividends for deadlifts. Squats are another issue, but I am not giving them up either.

I'm only 42 years old, but I've been doing squats and deads for 24 years of my 42. That is a lot of squats and deadlifts. I competed in my very first powerlifting meet at the age of 18 and my last was at 30 years old. Although I stopped competing I still loved doing those two exercises. It's far different for you even though you are older than I am because you haven't been lifting the way I have for the last 24 years.

You might be hard pressed to find someone here who has spent as many hours under a bar in the squat rack as I have.
