Default Training with a broken hand

To make a long story short I broke my hand. This is honestly the worst possible thing that could have happened to me right now. How am I supposed to train? I'm going to lose a lot of muscle. I can hardly write. ( I can type with my left hand but im ridiculously slow. I'm so depressed. You guys have no idea.

Simple... Stop training until the hand heals 100% why risk serious injury for the sake of worrying about losing muscle... I know it sucks but thats life, In my 13 years of training I have had to take off a period off 6 months and a couple of times for about a month each.. If you have been training for a bit the size comes back pretty quickly anyways 'muscle memory'..trust me.. take it easy and get that hand taken care of!

Learn to lift with your wrist's. You can do almost everything with straps and improvization. You can still hit your legs full force and by training around your injury you can at the very worst maintain the level your at now. Be smart and be safe but be creative you'll be surprised what you can do.

agreed with both the above mosters. Use things like ab straps to do lats and a pec deck to do chest. THe white building doesn't have the ab straps (order some), but they DO have a nice pec deck.

What you do... fall out of a frat house window?!

^What they said... don't get yourself down. you could get into some serious shape and bring up some lagging bodyparts during this time. Look at EME's story... he was out for a long long time, adn within a month of coming back he is full force again.

should i just start pounding my legs three times a week?? Ill try to use machines because I cant squat. I think i might be able to smith squat with a spotter. Maybe Ill up the cardio and cut down to single digit bodyfat? I dont know. I was making amazing gains to. Should I cut out supplements except for multi? I just want to get this shit behind me allready.

I wouldn't cut off the supplements unless you were taking things that well you know what I mean. I would keep pounding the creatine, etc type products. It wouldn't be a bad idea to cut, but there should be plenty of exercises you can do even with your hand in that situation. Go to bodybuilding.com's exercise database and see if you can find some exercises that you can use your wrists/straps to do.

Should I buy Arnold's encyclo? Or do you think PSU has it in the library?

Where is the cheapest place to get it w/ shipping to PSU?

i wouldn't do anything that involves your hand. i wouldn't touch straps either since connected to your wrist is... you guessed it, your hand.

lower body i would continue with. abs could also be continually worked. core exercises on the bouncy ball things would be benifical also.

broken bones suck, ive have my fair share of them, the less stress you put on them the better they will produce scar tissue and heal up. last thing you want is never ending pain in your hand becasue you couldn't keep yourself away from hammer curls for 4 weeks.

take a rest buddy.

(also talke to Grunt76, he broke both his hands recently)

i went to the patterno library and picked up arnolds encyclo. Its the older one but it should keep me busy for a little while. ill do whatever it takes for it to heal correctly. 6 weeks of ab,leg work and cardio wont kill me.

i dont know about your definition of "nice" girl, but getting lost in the "stacks" might only work on the TV show of that name with Pam.

the library at PSu is massive. The stacks are different floors that are pretty much entirely covered in books/shelves.

romanaz if you had ever been there you would understand exactly what he was saying.
