Some guy named Pete Scisco made a fortune ripping off peeps with his e-book that claimed his static hold workouts will build massive amounts of muscle and burn fat better than any other training protocol known to man or science. ![]() Static hold methods do have there place as a shocking method only. By that I mean you can use a static hold, for example, at the end of a DB benchpress exercise on your last rep. Instead of simply putting the DBs down after your last rep has been completed you would hold the DBs as long as you could at the top of the movement. While doing this you would also focus on squeezing and flexing your pecs during that time.

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 116 | Yup... powerman is right on with this one. It is one thing to have slow eccentric moves (which can build some mass AND definately shocks your CNS), and another to simply hold at a mid-point. Like Powerman said, using mid-point statics and resistant negatives are great for muscle fatigue at the end of a final set.... but you shouldn't use it as a training method. Don't forget your multi

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 5 | The only area where I would use static holds would be for your forearms. They are very effective for growing those muscles, but that is about it. |

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 6 | I would only use it for a schocking method. One thing I heard, was that it really messes up your joints. |
