Default Terminology CHANGE

I do not "Workout"

I TRAIN

Working out is what people do on elipticals or when they do kickbacks. I enter the gym NOT to simply move objects against the force of gravity. I go to the gym to train my muscles so they can grow and handle larger amounts of work.

From now on I will no longer use the acronym PWO or WO. I train. Therefore I use PTr nutrition or "at 7am, I Tr."

It occured to me after my set of widowmakers today the phrase "workout" heavily undermines what I do in the gym.

Dude I like it. I love the whole mindset behind it. It's a lot how EME refuses to call bulking bulking, he calls it "mass gaining".

PTN: Post training nutrition

Uhhh. *gives invisible IM reps*

PTN it is. I was trying to figure out a way to avoid the use of PT: the widely used abreviation for Personal Trainer.

I train 3 or 4X weekly, and workout 2X on an empty stomach.

It would be impossible to train on an empty stomach.

I agree Peaked. I def workout sometimes, and I don't mean to say it is worse or inferior... it just IS NOT what I do with weights.

Ah, semantics. It makes me think of Shakespeare:

What's in a name? That which we call a rose by any other word would smell as sweet.

Using your ideology DJ, someone who trains twice as hard as yourself should come up with a distinctive title for their training, maybe something like "super-max training" or "iron degravitation", lest someone confuse what he does with what you do. I definitely think bodybuilder's, in general, are prone to being elitist and there's no need of it.

But hey, if referring to your exercise program a certain way helps you focus or improve your results, more power to you.

It is kind of obvious now that you mention...

You don't workout to reach your goals. You train to reach your goals.

Train - v. - To prepare physically, as with a regimen.

Workout - v. - A session of exercise or practice to improve fitness.

Close, but training is more badass.
