Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 29 | Peter Sisco and John Little are the one's i believe that made it popular. Ive read some of the books on it and they make it out to sound like it's some miracle program like HIT was when it first hit the mainstream. I tried it for a month or two a while back and i just didnt feel like i was doing anything in the gym...

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 58 | I think this comes pretty close to the definition of isometrics. The word "toning" comes to mind. For bodybuilding, I don't think it is a good substitute for moving weight where the muscle contracts through its full range of motion. I am no expert in isometrics, so if anyone has more on this, I would be interested to hear it. *

jiza101: The movement your friend is talking about might be useful to pass a sticking point, but i would not use it on a regular basis. Bodybuilders in general use an isotonic contraction, which consists of both a concentric and eccentric phase with full range of motion. | |
