Default Squats and Deadlifts

About 3 months ago I took a break from training. I started training again at the start of this of week. This week I was mainly looking at my maxes and working on technique. I've noticed I have horrible squat and deadlift technique and have tried various ideas people have given me to correct this, but as soon as I add weight to the bar (not even significant weight) my technique goes away.

Although squats and deadlifts are essential lifts are they substitutable? Hack squat I can perform.

Also would HST be a appropriate for starting my training again?

give it time.

there are really no subs for these lifts. My squat form took almost a year to get down.

As long as you don't have an injury that prevents you from doing these movements, you should definitely learn them. You can work the same bodyparts with other exercises, but these 2 are prominent for a reason.

Keep working on that form, and if you need some help, go here: NSCA Video Library Presented by Dartfish

another bit of squat help
