Default Sooo Tired...

I am making great gains in the gym. My book is full of personal bests right now. My weight is going up, I feel tighter and bigger than ever before. I am excited to hit the weights. But about 2:30 or 3 I literally crash. I want to just say screw it and lay down right were I am. I have been working hard on top of working out hard but I think I should be able to handle it; I have dealt with a lot worse in the past. I get about 6.5 or 7 hours of sleep a night and that is normal for me. Am I just feeling the effects of getting older finally or do you think something is off that I could adjust? Don’t say take a week off or anything crazy like that. I am gaining right now and that would mess with my head worse than my body.

carb intake? id sleep a bit more if i were you..
stress?
maybe you just gotta jerk off pre workout, trust me itll give you the most awesome workouts ever (motivated, happy and calm)
good trick is to just lay on a bed for 15 min shut your eyes and just focus of what youre about to do in the gym..

really? Rubbing one out before lifting? I always thought it lowered your T levels. Ay well.

Could be carb intake (as said above)
Hydration (is my bet)
and SLEEP LIKE 9 HOURS IF YOU CAN.

Don't forget your multi either... the micros and vitamins tend to help overall alertness and health.

I have to disagree on the sex before lifting thing. Everytime I do it before I lift, I have shitty workouts... just from personal experiences. I have also heard it lowers, but I have also read it stays the same. Nevertheless, maybe try it once, but it makes me want to go to sleep

Why would anybody want to be happy and calm during a workout?

Yeah sorry but I have been around the sex block enough to know that right after I may want a snack but I defiantly need a nap. Also I have been lurking around here long enough to know the importance of proper hydration and in fact attribute a lot of the gains I have seen to increased hydration. I know why you say 9 hours of sleep but, that just wont happen in my world and my sleep pattern has not changed in years.

I am guessing it is carb intake. What is an example of a quick pick me up that I can eat when I feel this way? What do you guys do? Oh and I rarely forget my multi. Thanx for your suggestions.

i dunno, i am usually really worried and anxious before going to the gym and before im about to attempt for a PR.. but if ive whacked one im more like "ive hit prs easily before, this wont be so hard either, nothing to do but to RAPE THE WEIGHT!", and generally much happier when going to the gym rather than thinking "oh man, this is gonna be painful"

Jakl,

I would try eating something like oatmeal with blueberries in it(high antioxidants), and maybe your not getting enough antioxidants in your diet. Try a cup of green tea or a cup of coffee for a quick pick me up also.

it sounds like you need a nice partner (not lifting)

Thanx, now we're talkin. I think I will try the green tea and see if that helps.

Yes, this is the ticket! I get my best workouts with the combo above. A "quick pick-me-up" will give you a quick pull-me down- blood sugar curve.
