Haven't done chinups in a while.... usually I do sets of 10-12 for hammer grip pullups (since my new gym doesn't have a belt for attaching weight to) - not to failure. I'll give it a go though, perhaps today, and report back.

nice work there... it's rare to see anyone at 280 doing any kind of chinup.

I usually do 3 sets of 12 (no weight belt, but I'm going to buy my own). I alternate the grip for each set. Underhand, Hammer, wide grip overhand.

the way i do pull-ups is i have a towel set-up and i grasp the two hanging parts of the towel. i do around 5 sets of 5-8 reps, but i could probably do 10 maybe, havent tested that yet

I can do 10 if I'm fresh @ 200lbs. Second set is usually about 6, and its all downhill from there.

I don't do chins, so I'm not sure how many I could do. In high school I set the school record for 33 pullups though (180 BW) And every year I get in the mid 20's for PT tests (last year I did 24)

Currently, I do pull ups after rack deads. Depending on the volume I do on the deads, typically I can get 3-5 sets of 6 p-ups with a wide grip. If I were to do them fresh, I estimate I'd get 10 without much trouble. I am bulking, so it's tough to add reps to my p-ups. I'm happy just to keep the volume consistent as the overload increases from my additional bodymass.

I've started doing chins as an intense capper to my bicep sessions.

yeh it is very very challenging, but it really works my forearms and grip strength like no other. also on the last couple reps i like to hold myself up at the top position for a few seconds and really squeeze it out. its tough!

I used to do 30 when I was 17. Me, and my brother put up a pull up bar in the hallway, and every time I walked by it, I would rep a few out. I think I weighed around 180 at the time.

I havn't done chin ups in a while, so I don't know how many I can do now, but I know it wont be 30.. I am 235 right now. I will give it a shot on back day, and post my results.
