Recipes: 1 Rep Power: 50 | I'm interested as to which program would be best for my goals. Basically, I'm cutting right now, and trying to sculpt my body. I wanna get ripped right now. Once I accomplish that, I wanna get stronger. And Much. Much. Bigger. ![]() I've been doing 5x5 for about 8 weeks now, and it's been going pretty good, I've made some nice gains, but I'm not gaining any real definition. I'm gaining in strength than anything. I've read that P/RR/S is a more body-building oriented program... so I was curious is doing P/RR/S during my cut would get me better results in terms of the look of my physique. 5x5 seems like it would be better once I start bulking again,as my body would be in a more anabolized state (i think thats the way it goes?). This is all just my theory however, and I very well could be wrong... Basically my question is which program do you think would go best with cutting and bulking? P.S.: Sorry for making so many threads. I like the website and the help I get, what can I say. ![]()

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 113 | well, 5x5 is a general strength routine, where as P/rr/s encorperates many different phases. the fact is, becoming "cut" really has nothing to do with your training. I mean, it does, but as long as your routine is fair, it doesn't make MUCH a difference. Diet yields composition differences.

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 128 | I have used both and both are great. While on the intermediate 5x5 I put on great mass, however with the term you used of 'body sculpting', PRRS would be a great choice. Don't get me wrong, I love the 5x5 routine and it is a solid choice for anyone looking for strength/general mass gains. The thing about PRRS is that it is a concept that can be applied however you want it, it is not a straight routine like the intermediate 5x5 is. PRRS is an idea you can build your workout around, and if you are interested in sculpting your body and bringing up your aesthetically weak points, go for the PRRS. You can build your routine to cater to the parts of your body that you would like to bring up as opposed to the 5x5. It is a great protocol for both cutting and bulking and it will do good things for your strength as well, so don't worry about that part. And don't worry about the threads/questions.... threads are good, questions are good Better to ask and learn than to stay silent. |
