Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 51 | Hey Everyone, I've been looking for a good shock tactic for my Arm training, and I received my new MuscleMag in the mail yesterday. One of the cover stories, "Add 1 inch to your Arms in 24 hours" reminded me of an old training routine I first learned of back in the 80's. So, I flipped to the article, and sure enough it was the same basic routine that's been around for a few decades. I've always wanted to give this a shot, and so I have decided to do this routine next Saturday, Nov. 5th. I'm very skeptical about actually adding anywhere near an inch in 24hrs, however, I will do the routine to the letter and document the results here in this thread. In the article, the authors claim you can expect .5 - 1.0 inch permanent growth as a result of the program. They claimed that their 5 independant testers who followed the program all gained over 3/4 inch of permanent size on their arms. The basic routine is as follows: Starting at 9:00 AM Each hour, at the top of the hour ( i.e. 9:00 ) you do 3 Sets of the following superset: Barbell Bicep Curls 10-12 reps Lying Tricep Ext. 10-12 reps Each hour, on the Half Hour ( i.e. 9:30 ) you do 3 Sets of the following superset: Seated Dumbbell Curls 10-12 reps Lying Dumbbell Tricep Ext. 10-12 reps You continue this every hour throughout the day, finishing the last superset at 5:30 PM. This equates to 9 total sessions of each superset workout throughout the day, 18 total training sessions. The article also specifies exactly what to eat throughout the day to fuel the workout. It recommends you take 2-3 days off before doing the training day, and a couple days off afterward. It also stresses that you are to do nothing else during the day but rest and relax between sets, and eat as scheduled. The article recommends measuring two days after your training day to measure your results. So, I will be hitting this training technique next Saturday, and I will report the results for all to see! :fingersxd - EME

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 51 | Yeah, I'm going to do it. I've read about this technique for years and I've always wanted to try it. I definitely feel now when I'm bulking and eating tons of food anyway would be the best time to do it.... we'll see what happens. One further thing to add.. the article stresses not to use heavy weights like you would normally use for your regular training session. They say to pick a good pump up weight..because by the afternoon.. you'll be fried if you try to go really heavy at the beginning... I'm doing measurements every month now anyway, so we'll be able to tell if any size that is gained initially lasts. The article states the 5 MuscleMag testers all made permanent gains. As I said, I'm very skeptical, but I'm seriously going to give it a go. ( Doing this on X-Factor is probably going to really kick my ass... X- Factor makes you more sore anyway... )If nothing else, it will be a good excuse to sit in front of the TV and watch football all day. ![]() - EME Quote:

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 51 | Hey Keith, I knew there would be some people who would say this. Heck, I'd probably be one of them if it was someone else posting this. But, I'm going to give it a try for shock value, if nothing else. I'm not going to injure myself. If I feel at any point that I am causing myself injury I'll stop and I'll post that result. Worst case scenario.. I'll be really sore for 3-4 days and my arms will be the same size they are now. If so, so be it. I'll know first hand. But, if I surprisingly get a growth spurt then, I'll post that as well. Hey, even most urban legends have some basis in truth! - EME

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 51 | Obviously this isn't the kind of thing you can do every week. The article says that you can do this routine once every 60 - 90 days. If I get any significant gain from it, I'll probably try it again in 60 - 90 days and compare the results. If I get no gain, I won't be doing it again! LOL - EME

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 60 | I'm just curious, what's the theory behind the workout? Are all those sets supposed to keep the muscles pumped up and majorly stretch the fascia? I have to say I'm very skeptical, but if it actually does anything for you I'll be the first to copy it. ![]() |

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 51 | LOL... You guys just want to watch me go belly up about 2:00 PM.. haha.. Actually... Robert is probably crazy enough to come over and do it with me. I'm going to get all my food together Friday night.. and just watch football, train, and eat.... all day... Then I'll probably be unable to type for two or three days.. so you probably won't get the results until about Wednesday. ![]() - EME Quote:

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 51 | Yes, I do believe that is the theory behind it. The timing of the workouts and the superset style training should do some major stretching of the muscle fascia over that prolonged period. I read a more detailed explanation of the "science" behind it years ago. The new MM article didn't really go into that part of it. It just detailed how to do it. Yeah.. I figued I'd be the guinea pig for IronMass on this one and give it 100%. If it works, you'll have a no B.S. account of the results, and if it doesn't, you'll know someone really did it correctly and didn't get anything out of it. - EME Quote:
