About Dorian Yates' training:
Biceps 5 sets
Triceps 5 sets
Back 12 sets
Delt & trap 9 sets
Chest 9 sets
Legs 14 sets

TOTAL 54 sets.

Say you split it in 4, 13½ sets per workout. So yes, that is "sort of" low volume. It's about twice the volume of a true HIT routine. The guy was about 270lbs though... Think in terms of "Tissue Load"...

I'm 230 and my "high volume" workouts go all the way up to 24 sets when I train light and fast... Except when I'm purposefully overtraining... Se above...

Getting to like this thread....

while very misunderstood (the use of multiple warmup sets etc), DY's training still fits my personal definition of low volume.
