| Pro Stature | OK so what I really need to do is take a break from working shoulders and chest. My shoulders arent in the best shape right now.And in my right pec i strained the tendon last week where it meets the shoulder close to where the armpit is.I havent done anything this week with chest or shoulders.I wanted to take at least two weeks off from shoulders and chest in order to let these nagging injuries heal up.I just dont really want to lose too much strength from it.Should I take the two weeks off from the two? or more, less?

| SEEK & DESTROY | I say take the break if you need it. With just 2 weeks there shouldn't be much degradation in strength and you'll regain it back easily. If you feel you need a break, don't deprive yourself. I'm taking a break right now. I had a horrible bench day on Monday and I just figured I needed a break.

I'm with this school of thought simply for the prevention of wicked DOM when you return. Do some light dynamic work. As long as your are still hitting other parts of your body, and ur diet is good, significant strength losses won't occur for a while.

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 41 | Well your body needs a break every 2-3 months. I would take a break every 8-12 weeks anyways. But if it is really bothering you, just take a break.

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 0 | I think he meant DOMS... delayed onset muscle soreness... basically when your muscles are sore/tight. Usually it's worst the second day after a workout, hence the 'delayed onset'. |

| Banned | You probably need a break anyways. DOMS= Delayed Onset Muscle Soreness, like the day after a really great workout and you feel sore, thats DOMS. |

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 39 | If you feel your body needs a break then take it. I personally hate to go more than 2 days without doing something. I would suggest work your lower body and increase your cardio. Take the time to cut up a bit. Just a thought
