Default Motivation.

Hello folks, just wanted to know if you guys believe in motivational thingamadoodies before lifting. I find that in my case that visual stimulation before lifting has helped me push that extra ten pounds when I'm totally spent. If you guys think that this helps, I would like to hear some of them. My newest motivation is the HULK movie. If you have not seen it, I whole heartedly suggest that you rent and watch it. Call it childish but visualising some of the havock wrecked by the guy is all the motivation I need for that extra lift!

I only receive motivation just moments before each set. When I had control over it, I would make certain music choices to get me pumped up for a set. I always try and start making my mind-muscle connection before I begin each set as well. As an interesting side note, I've seen studies surrounding colors that affect strength performance. Not surprisingly, the color red elicits a better response if a weightlifter is looking at a red wall as opposed to a blue wall, which causes a degrading of performance. So don't do your heavy squats or DLs in a baby blue t-shirt or sweatshirt. Personally, I like white.
