Default Max-OT: changing rep ranges?

I have tried Max-OT and saw great strength gains but basically no size gains because I respond better to the 8-10 rep range than the 4-6. Would doing a Max-OT routine but changing the exercises from the 4-6 range to the 8-10 range be logical?

To be honest I've found it's best to vary your rep range to work both slow and fast twitch fibers. Try half pyramid set's on your compound movement's like flat bench, squat, or dead's and see how you respond. For example after warming up do one set of between 10-12 reps increase the weight and bang out another of 8-10 add more weight and hit the 6-8 range and finish off with a final set of really heavy 4-6 reps. Max-OT at a high rep range really wouldn't be Max-OT anymore but most successful bodybuilders customize a number of programs to fit their individual needs. It takes time and experience to really fine tune a routine that works best for you.

I've found that switching between Max-OT and higher volume training every couple months really helps break through plateaus...it also keeps me from getting bored with a routine, which is always nice
