Exclamation Injury/How can I increase shoulder flexibility?

Today I hurt my shoulder during football class. My left arm got pulled across my body (towards my right shoulder) and I had a sharp pain and there was something like a pop or snap there.I saw the trainer and he said something along the lines of that I just strained the tendons in the back of my rotator cuff. When it first happened I couldnt move my arm for a little while so I just kept up and close to my body as if it were in a sling.I was scared that I had seriously injured it because the summer before my freshman year I dislocated my right shoulder and had a hairline fracture in my collar bone.So he just told me to stay away from upper-body lifting for a little while. When he was checking my shoulders he said I have very little flexibility in my shoulders. So I want to know what things I can do to increase flexibility in them.Hopefully this would help prevent future injury.Guys just let me knwo what I can do about this! Thanks

Go to a sports trainer and do the rehab he gives. I had a cuff injury once and just listen to what the therapist says. If you go to a normal doctor, don't listen to them. A specialized sports therapist is best.

Yeah, but it's not like he's going to give your therapy multiple sessions a week. It's best to go to one in a private clinic or something. There, you go there 3-4x a week for stretches so much and it actually works. Then they'll tell you exactly how much to lift x rep and everything in their rehab programs.

You school trainer is gonna tell you to ice it but he's not gonna give you therapy which is what yo need at this point.

Do you have insurance? If you do, find a doctor who'll accept full coverage. But the price...man, idk. It might be I think around $50-$100 a session of therapy.

Ah man unfortunately I don't!And I dont have the cash for therapy.I guess i'll make do with what I can.Tomorrow I will go to my trainer at school and get treatment.Usually its a muscle stimulator with either heat or ice. When I injured my ankle he gave me treatment and gave me some exercises to strengthen the tendons again in my ankle, along with some stretches.Maybe he can do the same for my shoulder.

Yeah, just do that then. If it's not a major injury, those will fix you up good.
