Default How possible is it?

I wanna know how possible it would be to get a 1000lb. total by this coming summer? I was thinking like:

Deads: 400
Squats: 350
Bench: 250

(Please tell me if that's like out of proportion or w/e)

I train basically for strength, with a little bit of hypertrophy mixed in btw.

i think your volume is too high. you should be doing 4-6 reps.

i see that you workout shoulders right before bench, thats not a good idea.

i dont think your doing enough exercises, throw in some weighted dips, close grip BP, skull crushers. throw those in there, and you should see your bench rise

for back, wide grip pull ups are a must.

Can't do dips, and I don't have an EZ bar for skull crushers haha. I could get some more equipment but it might take a while. I'm not training PURELY for strength at the moment, hence the not-so-low rep scheme. I see what you mean about militaries.

4-6 reps for life, great rep range for my body.

I do dips using the catches on my rack. A little wide but still a great workout. Just use the bench bar for skull crushers, just don't load 165lbs on it.

I think you can do it but you wouldn't be able to stay as lean as you are and still bulk up enough to pull it off.

study my log.

Do what I am doing. I have the same goal as you, except I'm sure i'll get it, and it will be on dec 9.

but seriously, i'm on a WSB type split, and it is yielding strength.

From your current numbers I'd say your goals are attainable 4 sure. Some of it is going to be tough but if you really dedicate yourself to it you can do it.

Id say you have to be bulking on clean cals for awhile and lifting heavy with low reps , and get good recovery. Good luck!!!!!!!

its possible, but your going to need low rep sets with HEAVY weight, grab some boards for the bench press, and eat right. I'm going for a 1000lb+ total by end of next summer, but I'm at 800 odd something now, so its a touch easier for me, but I REFUSE to miss that goal. :-D

good luck

You start a thread that says you want to increase your power output but then you don't. Make up your mind.
What is this that you only want to gain 10lbs

Dude if you are lifting for cosmetic reasons ,then dont care what you are lifting just aslong as you see that you are increasing reps and weight fairly consistanly. It wont be a linear / exact percentage of gains per given time.

If you are playing a sport go for all speed and power dont care about what you look like the weight will take care of that.

Who cares if you gain 20lbs in the next 10months if you are leaner and stronger you will look better and perform better at your sport.

I don't believe your goals are out of touch with reality. These are all very possible goals. You're going to have a whole year. Here's the thing though...

You have to start now and you can't stop. You can't put off getting yourself on the move or it ain't gunna happen.

Again, what you want to do is very possible. I honestly don't see why you wouldn't be able to do it, as long as you stay on track.

Thanks guys and gals. I'm gonna finish what I am doing first, then start really aiming for strength. In the time I am finishing up what I am doing, I'll do as much reading as I can on logs and other sources.
