Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 5 | in the past month or so i have been getting headaches when i lift. ive been trying to figure it out on my own but i still cant figure it out. here is what happens. stretching and cardio does not bother me but as soon as i get past 5 or 6 reps on moderate to heavy weight i get a terrible headache in the back of my head. its a pulsing feeling and gets worse as i do more reps. between sets it slowly goes away and is usually gone if i wait about 10 minutes or so but as soon as i get 5 or 6 more reps into my next set it comes back. usually after 9 or 10 reps it gets to the point that i cant do anymore even at light weight. my first thoughts were that i was dehydrated but even after drinking 40+ ounces of water within 30 min of lifting i get the headaches. ive been watching my breathing patterns while lifting also and that seems to not be the problem. ive tried more food before lifting and also less. neither of those effected it at all. if anyone has any ideas on what causes this or what i could do to prevent it that would be great. it really bothers me to go to the gym and not even be able to give 100%.

| FDU Devils Weightlifter | maybe your holding your breath to much and the pressure in your head goes off the charts. When you get the headache, see if your eyes are bloodshot, thats usually an indicator of pressure.

holding your breath, if done right (aka in squats, holding air in your stomach, makes your base wider = stronger) can keep you stable and be a good lift. I do this most, if not all of my lifts

| Mushroom Cloud Laying.... | Yes, just get it checked out normally. It maybe high without weight training and when you start it sky rockets. Anytime you get your pulse going, blood pressure will increase... Just get it tested and see where it is at... If your top number is over 130 then you need to do something about it... anything over 120 isn't the best.
