Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 5 | I'll get to the point straight away so there's no confusions... I've only ever done 3 exercises per session for legs (1 for quads, hams & calves) as they're already huge, not pro bb'er huge but let's put it this way, I'm a 32" waist and I had to buy size 38" jeans the other day just to fit over my legs and they're still tight. Well I was reading up on how doing a high intensity/volume leg session can release hormones that help the rest of your body grow. I decided to add another 3 exercises to my leg routine (another for quads, hams & calves). Well today in the gym I did Front squats followed by hack squats and I felt the most tired I'd ever felt in the gym (and my other sessions are pretty high intensity/volume anyway). I had SLDL's to do next so I loaded the bar, did 2 reps and then just put it back down again. I felt as if I'd been running a marathon, I was THAT tired. I decided to call it a day and go home as even if I tried to do more, I just couldn't. I felt terrible walking home, I felt as if I'd let myself down completely and that I wasn't meant for bb'ing. I feel like crap now aswell just thinking about it. When I do legs usually, I enjoy it because I only do 3 exercises and feel like I've acomplished something at least. I was listening to the music that motivates me the most, I was thinking of all the gains doing these high intensity leg sessions are gonna get me, nothing could have motivated me more today but by the end I lost ALL motivation and just wanted to go home. I'm gonna have to stick with what I was doing. I just know my gains aren't going to be as good now. HK

Add one set of each new exercise with light to moderate weight and build your way up session to session until you can handle the added volume. It takes time, no need to rush things. |

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 51 | Bro... Trust me.... I WISH that was the worst workout of my life. What if you left your workout and found out you couldn't train again for 5-6 months??? You can go in next week and hit them again... Hell, you can go in a few days and hit them again if you feel like it. I used to HATE cardio... I did it because I knew I had to do it to get in competition shape.. and I did as much as I had to do..... but I hated it the whole time. I WISH I could do cardio right now. I wish I could do ANYTHING in the gym.. instead of sitting here on my ass by the computer. So, you're workout didn't go as well as you wanted.... get in there next time and kick some ass bro. We don't know what we have until it's gone. Fortunately my setback is only temporary... but I can tell you that I WON'T be missing any workouts in the future... now that I know what it feels like to have them taken away from me. You had one workout that you didn't feel great about, but tomorrow is a new day and tomorrow can be your best workout ever. Get in there and hit it hard, and never forget how lucky you are just to be able to train! - EME

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 114 | Was your diet the previous day in check? As I like to say... every meal on every is, technically, both pre- and post-workout nutrition. If I don't get all the carbs i normally do for some reason, my workout the next day suffers bad. Sleep and hydration are also other KEY factors. Not to mention doubling the volume of ur routine.

| Silver Member | the mind needs rest days too just like the muscles we work. relax, eme makes a great point and don't over analyze it. get plenty of rest and keep consistant on your nutrition and things will be as one again. (my zen philosopher side is showing). hope you have a good day tomorrow. |

| Pink Members | dude we have all had experiences like that during a workout..i say just chaulk it up to a bad day and try again next time... i would also like to comment on the rep/set routine you got going dude...maybe try doing a quad dominant or hammie dominant exercise followed by another quad or hammie exercise ( depending on what exercises you are doing for that day ) and then add in an accessory (opposite exercise) to accentuate the other muscle group you havent worked.....either quad dominant or hammie dominant... i.e. if youre working quads do a hammie accessory...if youre doing hammies do a quad dominant exercise....either one you wanna do higher reps with a lighter weight for the accessory.... just my opinion...lol |

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 9 | So you go back in a few days fro now and do it again - we all have crap workouts now and then. I have one about once/month. It happens. And for each one of those, I have two great ones. Get back on the horse. The questions about diet are good ones - I find that my workouts follow my nutrition. |

| Pro Stature | cmon dont be a pussy, you're right, you don't deserve to bodybuild! ![]() Lol, just playin. Like DarkFalcon said, work your way up to it, and also take a week off training, or it could have been just a bad day. We all get those, just next leg day, go in the gym and work even harder.
