Default Chest strength....what's wrong with me?

I can fly 80lb db's for more than 6 somtimes 8 reps, I incline 100lb db's for 5-6 yet I can only bench about 275 max. Is it my front delts that are weak?

Weird...I can incline and flat bench more than that, but I could never even imagine doing 80lb flies

I don't think it is your front felts that are weak, because you'd probably use them more for incline than flat bench.

What does your form look like with those flies and incline presses?

I'm starting to think that I have some kind of genetic/physical-muscle-type attachment problem. My chest is STRONG, but I just can't get the bar up on my bench. I have really long arms, just so everyone knows...........

damn man, 80 lb flyes is heavy as hell. I can't go higher than 60 before my form gets crappy and my max bench is just over 300.

The arms may have something to do with it, but even with the flyes they'd put you at a huge mechanical disadvantage.

Try doing 8-10 rep sets at 275 with a generous spotter. I got stuck doing my rep work at 255 for couldnt seem to go up. This guy I work out with sometimes had me do these assisted sets, where he's obviously spotting alot of the weight, but after a few weeks I found myself able to support more and more of the weight on my own. My guess is all the supporting muscles and joints need to get used to the heavy weight before they'll actually handle it on their own.

Everybody's body is different though, who knows. I can get 115lb dumbbells up for a good 8-10 reps but still cant get 315 on barbell bench. And 80lb DB flyes? I'm at like 50lbs. before my form starts going bad.

I was thinking the same about the front delts and incline db press as well......My form on everything is dead on, i always use good form and if I can't then I will lower the weight.

I know, I just can't seem to figure it out.........I mean, even if it is because I have long arms that is keeping me at a leverage disadvantage, that would also impede my flies.......you would think?

Crap, I have to find a gym around here, let alone a training pard! I just moved out to GA to take care of my dad and haven't had the time to find one yet.
