Default Bulking up the neck

Hi All,

Just looking for good exercise advice to increase neck size. I have a 15 1/2 shirt size neck, pretty pathetic, I know. I've seen boxers use a head strap with weights hanging at the bottom to bulk up their necks, but I don't have access to anything similar. What do you guys do? Is there a good technique available?

Thanks

I use my own hands to apply pressure on each side for lateral movements and the old wrestler's bridge when I have some nice cushioning for my head.

But if I had the strap and weights here at home, I would use them.

Usually I use the head harness with chain, works the neck very well. Unfortunately I am having a hard time getting one to last, my old trusty leather one finally gave out. Now the last 2 I got from bb.com failed the first time I used them.

The head harnesses are not expensive, be worth while to invest in one. I don't lift a ton with them but a bit more advanced than a beginner 'hence' why the ones I've been buying are not lasting.

Get a towel and wrap it around a plate. Lay down on a flat bench with your head off the end and rest the plate on your forehead and do neck raises that way. After doing 3-4 sets that way you can turn on your stomach and rest the plate on the back of your head and do 3-4 set's in that direction. To work the sides you can do as MacTech suggested.

Hammer curls with a shrug movement at the end. Upright rows
4-way neck machine, Deadlifts, Rack pulls, seated rows, shrugs, rear shrugs.

Back when I first started training I found shrugs and upright rows blew my neck and traps up pretty darn fast.
