Default Best back workouts

Lately I've been trying to build a huge toned back but my lifts for upper and lower back are pretty limited. I don't know about others but it would be pretty helpful for me if some of you guys would post your usual routines/best lifts for upper and lower back. thanks

Default Re: Best back workouts

The best backs I see usually come from people doing weighted pullups (varying widths), heavy rows, and heavy deads.

Backs take time ... thickness comes with the numbers.

Outside of the gym, I work my normal job (manual labor) and get 3 sets of 15 pullups in regular, and one weighted set with 45lbs for as many as I can (usually 5-6). I'm lifting packages all night, so my lower back gets a workout (try 40-50 147lb snowplows!), and for a row I've got a barbell with 135lbs that I leave sit outside and dig it out of the snow and just rep that away. Nothing fancy, but it's keeping me strong.

-Deadlifts
-Heavy BB Rows (parallel to ground)
-DB Rows
-PULLUPS/CHINS (way better than cable pulldowns imo)

The rest is just fluff.

Best back workout for me is rows and deadlifts.

It's one of my favorite work outs ^_^

I alternate every week between starting my workouts with either 2 thickness exercises or 2 width exercises. For width I always do wide grip & close grip and sometimes mix it up with whatever other attachment I can find. I'm not a huge fan of db rows, but I do BB rows every week. T bar rows and close grip cable rows are good too. I deadlift every week but I alternate between light and heavy, do the same with squats so my back doesnt get too torched.
