Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 12 | i'm basically stuck with my training program for 100m, 200m and long jump training. i just need a couple workouts, some advice or tips, but most importantly a week spilt. alot of people here already know a little bit about me, so i don't think i need to post stats, but if anyone needs some, just say which ones and i'll psot em if they will help. Basically i'm a beginner on serious track & field training but i have a little bit of running training under my belt, and nearly two years of weights also. i am very keen and determined to improve. also, a little sample diet or what i should/should not eat would be great also. thanks to all that reply

| Mushroom Cloud Laying.... | All I know is that the best thing you can do is work on explosiveness... I see a lot of people doing fast explosive sets for legs, including step lunges and jumping with a bar on your shoulders.. I haven't trained for track since I was 15... so that was a long time ago and I didn't use weights to train back then.

| Pro Stature | I've never been on track but I have lots of friends on the team. They basically job a few miles for a warmup no matter what they compete in. They they work in groups for their skill (100m,200m, whatever) They also do lots of leg plyometrics and stair running. That's all I know. And this is done every day. |

| Amateur | I ran track for 5 years and ended up winning districts twice for a short distance event as well as edaling in regionals in a handful of events. Most of what we did were 8-10 repetitions of one of our events (This included 400m's.... oi) and other days we would pyramid up lengths (100, 200, 300, 400, 500, 600, then back down). Those were our hard days. We alternated between easy and hard, easy we would have plyometrics, practice starts, and using bungees to help with our take offs. Plus some lifting ![]() We did a lot of stuff like that.

Recipes: 2 Rep Power: 96 | There is no routine any of us here have that will magically improve your sprinting ability. Remember this is a bodybuilding website. Stick some goals, it seems you change a lot. And you don't look like you have two years of training. Don't think your advanced, because your not. Start on a basic routine, do sprints, eat right, and over time it will come. Rome was not built in a day. And neither are 3.79 40-yard sprints. |

I ran track Freshman year in High school and you are completely correct on that . Its a big mistake to do calves at all . Most on the team didnt do any weights at all for legs either. I was eventually kicked off the team when in a long distance run I was caught "breaking away " from the team and taking the bus back to school. I would run with the bus pass in a plastic ziploc bag in my sock and bus change as I had done this countless times. | |
