Product information:

Omega Sports Power Jolt – Reformulated

We've all been there... too tired, too dazed, too stressed to get a quality workout in each and every day. One day away from the gym turns into one week and one week turns into a month. Before you know it, your lack of energy and motivation has ruined your entire program. So we loose whatever we have worked so hard to gain, and then we have to start all over again, simply because the drag of everyday life zaps our energy, motivation, and desire needed to fuel your demanding workouts. To truly reach your goals, you must put a halt to this vicious circle. You may have heard the expression "work smarter, not harder." Well, Omega Sports has introduced the smart solution to help you reach maximum intensity levels every single time you step into the gym. Helping you work harder than ever before is what Power Jolt is scientifically designed to do.

Power Jolt from Omega Sports is the absolute pinnacle for pre-workout and energizing compounds. Superior focus. Unyielding determination. The ability to lift more weight each and every time you touch a barbell. Pure intensity in a bottle to get you through the most demanding workouts. Our synergistic ratio of ingredients not only gives you a serious Jolt of Power, but also helps to support the mind-body connection, improves concentration, increases focus, allows users to adapt to handle higher work loads, and helps mobilize body fat for energy. And Power Jolt does all of this without the nasty side effects associated with run of the mill CNS stimulants. If your workouts hit the wall too soon, or you just cannot seem to find the motivation you need to get in the gym everyday, give yourself a Power Jolt and find out what training in the zone is really all about.

Power Jolt has been reformulated to include 8mg of Vitamin B6 and 300mg of Sulbutiamine.

Vitamin B6 is essential for amino acid absorption, metabolism, and transport, the formation and growth of red blood cells, and for the utilization of many substances used by the nervous system.* A deficiencyof vitamin B6 is associated with irritability, weakness and nervousness

Sulbutiamine has been shown to facilitate wakefulness, improve long-term memory, speed up reaction time, decrease anxiety, and increase overall resistance to stress. It improves mental function, prevents damage to brain cells, and may even be able to reverse existing damage to brain cells. Sulbutiamine has been used by cyclists in Europe for close to 20 years to fight off fatigue.

Supplement Facts:

Serving Size: 4 Capsules
Servings Per Container: 30

Amount Per Serving:

L-Tyrosine: 1900mg

Default Day 1, Tuesday 8/16/05

Normally I would have been doing chest and back today, but I was off yesterday from work and did them then. I am doing cardio tomorrow, so I just took today off.

I have to be at work at 4:30 AM, which means I normally get up at around 3:15 AM during the week. I have slight insommnia problems and usually can't fall asleep until 10:00 or later, which means I normally get only 4 to 5 hours of sleep a night until the weekend. I felt my lack of sleep, coupled with my declining metabolism made me a perfect candidate for testing the new Power Jolt. Apparently Proverbs agreed with me, or felt sorry for me, as he picked me as one of the testers. For those of you who have never seen any of my logs on that other forum, I have a strange sense of humor, so please bear with me.

I was too excited about having the Power Jolt to wait for tomorrow to take some, so I took my first dose at 10:30 AM today at work for a pick-me-up. I had only 4.25 hours of sleep last night, so I needed something to wake me up.

I have been mega-dosing diet Pepsi and diet Coke for a long time for my caffiene fix. I had decided to cycle off of them about two weeks ago as I felt that I had built up too much of a tolerance to the caffiene. I had some diet Coke on Sunday and noticed that I got quite a caffiene buff off of only 8 ounces, so my sensitivity to caffiene has returned. I was curious to find out how the caffiene in the Power Jolt would effect me.

So, anyway, I took the 4 capsules of Power Jolt at 10:30. At 11:00, I hadn't really noticed anything. Then, about 15 minutes later, I started to notice a slight increase in energy and clarity of thought. It wasn't real noticeable, but just a nice smooth increase, enough to help me get re-motivated at work. The effect lasted about four hours (about 2:30 PM) and started slowly winding down. Cool, no crash! I am still feeling a bit more energized as I type this, which may account for the wordiness.

I'll be trying my next dose before my cardio tomorrow.

Default Day 2, Wednesday 8/17/05

This was a cardio day for me. I got my usual 4.5 hours of sleep on Tuesday night. I took 4 capsules of the Power Jolt 45 minutes before my cardio. I did 30 minutes of HIIT on the stationary bike. I noticed what I can only describe as a slow rev up of my energy. It's really kind of hard to describe. There's no sudden "whoa, there's the kick", just a nice steady increase in energy. It lasted all through my cardio session and for a couple of hours afterwards. I would estimate a total of about 4 to 5 hours before it started tapering off. Again, no sudden crash, just a slow calming down effect. Way cool. :coooool:

Default Day 3, Thursday 8/18/05

Thursday is my legs day. I'm not fond of working my legs, so I kind of hate Thursdays. I can't squat because of knee and back problems and poor leverage, so I pretty much stick to leg presses and extensions. I took 4 capsules of the Power Jolt 45 minutes before my work-out. I had only 4 hours of sleep from the night before, so I really needed this.

I felt the nice gradual increase in my energy just as I started warming up. The energy lasted a good three to four hours before tapering off.

My workout:
Quads:
Leg press - 10x540, 10x540, 10x540
Leg Extension - 15x100, 12x110

Hamstrings:
Lying leg curls - 10x70, 9x70, 9x70
Stiff leg dead lifts - 12x135, 14x135

Calves:
Seated calf raises - 15x135, 12x150, 12x150

Default Day 4, Friday 8/19/05

I wasn't sure if I should call this day 4 or not, because I didn't take any Power Jolt today. That is because I read on a thread on bb.com where Matt said the Power Jolt should only be taken three or four days a week, with a day off in between. Something like Monday, Wednesday and Friday or Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday. I believe he said this is necessary so the user doesn't build up a tolerance to the sulbutiamine. So I did my delts and arms work-out today without using the Power Jolt. If it is correct that we should be taking the Power Jolt every other day then I will probably change my workout schedule around a little to optimize the use of the Power Jolt.

Default Day 5, Saturday 8/20/05

I decided to take 4 caps of the Power Jolt today even though I only had the one day off. This is my cardio and abs day. I took the Power Jolt 30 minutes before my workout. This was later than I would normally have taken it, but I wanted the Jolt to kick in during my cardio and I do abs first, so I'm not so sweaty on the bench. Plus, it just makes more sense to me.

Anyways, the Jolt kicked in nicely about the start of my cardio, so I timed it just right. Yay for me! I got a nice little boost and it lasted about three hours before winding down.

Default Day 6, Sunday 8/21/05

Sundays are off days from the gym for me. I didn't take any Power Jolt today. I am going to switch my workout routine around slightly and start taking the Power Jolt on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. The only real change is that Saturday will now be my delts and arms day. I will do abs on Fridays, but I will not be doing the cardio as it will be too soon after doing legs on Thursday. I will still do my cardio on Saturday after delts and arms.

Default Day 8, Tuesday 8/23/05

Back on the Power Jolt today! I needed it as I only got 4 hours of sleep Monday night.

O/T: if anyone ever needs someone to test a sleep aid supplement, I'm your man! I've tried melatonin, valerian, hops ,chamomille, GABA, l-tryptophan, 5-HTP, l-theanine and a host of others and I still have problems falling asleep.

Tuesday is chest and back day. I took 4 capsules 45 minutes before my workout. About 5 minutes before my workout I began to feel the Power Jolt kick in. Again, the Jolt doesn't really kick in, it just kind of revs up. The energy boost lasted about 4.5 hours today.

Chest:
Flat DB press: 80 lbs x 8 reps, 85x6, 85x6
Incline DB press: 70x6, 70x6, 70x6

Back:
BB rows: 185x6, 185x6, 185x6
Lat machine pulldowns: 170x8, 170x8
1 arm DB rows: 65x8, 65x7

The Power Jolt has an interesting feel to it. At least for me, it's almost too subtle too feel. It's like I notice it after the fact. It's kind of "Hey, I have more energy now, the Power Jolt must have kicked in!" I would like to see how the Power Jolt would work if I coule ever get a straight week of decent sleep.

Default Day 9, Wednesday 8/24/05

Wednesday is a cardio day for me, so I didn't use the Power Jolt. I did 30 minutes of HIIT on the stationary bike. I pretty much stick to only the stationary bike or the treadmill for my cardio as I have found that I am way to much of a klutz for the stairmaster and the elliptical trainers. I can't quite seem to coordinate my feet.

I am starting to notice a slight difference in the way I feel on the days I take the Jolt and the way I feel on the days I don't take it. If it works better cycling it on and off daily, I'm wondering how it would work if one alternated the Power Jolt with something like AMP, which is also only supposed to be taken every other day. Of course, AMP would have to work for you, it doesn't effect me at all for some reason, even at the maximum dose. So, I won't be the test subject for this.

Thursday is legs day, so I get to take the Power Jolt today. I took 4 capsules 45 minutes before my workout. It started winding my energy up about 5 minutes into my warm-ups. The energy boost lasted about 4 hours today.

Quads:
Leg Press: 8 reps x 590 lbs, 8x590, 7x590
Leg extensions: 13x110, 12x110

Hamstrings:

Stiff legged dead lifts: 15x135, 12x155

Calves:

I am still getting a nice energy boost from the Power Jolt. I haven't noticed any drawbacks to it at all.

Default Day 11, Friday 8/26/05

I'm using Friday as an off day basically now. I did do some ab work at home, my girlfriend has one of those Swiss balls that seem so popular at the gym anymore, so I did some crunches and leg lifts on it. It's kind of fun, but I'm not 100% sold that it is any more effective than regular ab work.

I didn't take any Power Jolt today.

Cool For Insomnia..

Hey for insomnia, have you ever tried hypnotism??

Seriously... I was into that stuff in high school... It used to come on cassette tapes... My problem was procrastination... Well, one syde of the tape, you listened to it during regular activities... For example, I would play the tape whyle doing my homework or whyle I was cleaning up, or driving...

The other syde you were supposed to listen to before you go to bed because it made you sleepy.. I didn't believe it.. so I listened to it at work one day with my headphones & I couldn't keep my eyes open... I went from being fully awake to totally exhausted in maybe 10 - 15 minutes...

I rarely procrastinate anymore... If there's somethyng I want to do but don't, it's usually because of priorities, not procrastination... Although, I styll fynd excuses to take an off day before hitting the gym to squat!! ... I looked up the tapes again to help an ex-gyrlfriend quit smoking... & now they're on CD's and even MP3's ...

I don't thynk u'll need a specific insomnia program... if you download one to your iPod for example, just put on your headphones and the program should knock you out...

http://www.hypnosisdownloads.com/dow...-insomnia.html

http://www.hyptalk.com

I have no experience with programs from the fyrst link, I got stuff from the 2nd... Her soft feminine voice would put me to sleep everytyme...

Good luck...

Peace..~G

No, I haven't tried hynotism yet, although I have thought about either it or those relaxation tapes. I'm kind of on the fence about hypnotism. There's something about giving control of your mind, even if it's just a small amount, to someone else that bothers me.

Thanks very much for the suggestion and the links. If the insomnia continues much longer I may try it.

Default Day 13 and 14, Sunday 8/28/05, Monday 8/29/05

Sundays are off days for me, so no Power Jolt today.

Monday was cardio day. I'm not using the Jolt on cardio days either, so there's not much to report here. I did 30 minutes on the stationary bike. It did seem to go a little easier, maybe there's an after effect from the Power Jolt?

Default Day 15, Tuesday 8/30/05

Tuesday is chest and back day, which means I get my Power Jolt today.

I took 4 capsules 45 minutes before my workout. I had another 4 measly hours of slepp the night before so I needed it. I didn't feel the Jolt as much today. I'm hoping that is due to the lack of sleep and not from my building up a tolerance to it.

Chest:
Flat DB press: 85 lbs x 6 reps, 85x5, 85x5
Incline DB press: 70x6, 70x6, 70x6

Back:
BB rows: 185x6, 185x6, 185x6
Lat machine pulldowns: 170x9, 170x8
1 arm DB rows: 65x7, 65x7

As you can see, I didn't really make any progress from last week. I think it was more from poor sleep than anything else as I was basically a zombie all day.

Default Day 16, Wednesday 8/31/05

Wow, where did the summer go? It's already the end of August. I didn't take any Power Jolt today. I stumbled through my cardio workout as I didn't fare any better in the sleep department Tuesday night.

Default Day 17, Thursday 9/1/05

The holiday came along and I missed posting for a few days, my apologies.

Thursday was my leg day. I took 4 capsules of the Power Jolt 45 minutes before my workout. I felt the Jolt more this time, so I'm pleased that I'm not building up a tolerance to it. It carried me through my workout and lasted another 3 hours or so. Again, a nice slow increase in energy and no real crash afterwards.

Quads:
Leg press: 9 reps x 590 lbs, 8x590, 8x590
Leg extensions: 12x110, 13x110

Hamstrings:
Lying leg curls: 8x80, 8x80, 8x80
Seated leg curls: 12x150, 12x150

Calves:
Standing calf raise: 12x550, 12x550

I tweaked my lower back so I had to stop doing the stiff leg dead lifts for my hamstrings. The seated leg curl machine gives me a good contraction, but does nothing for the stretch position, which is what I like using the SLDL for. Oh, well, they will have to do for now.

Default Day 18, Friday 9/2/05

Fridays are off days for me. That was good because I ended up working 15 hours trying to make sure I got everything done before the holiday. By hour 12 I was wishing I had brought some of the Power Jolt to work with me.

Default Day 19, Saturday 9/3/05

Delts and arms day. I have got to say wow for the Power Jolt today. I took my 4 capsules 45 minutes before my workout as I usually do. It seemed to kick in much stronger than I have felt it previously. The enrgy boost lasted for 8 hours today! I worked out at noon and was still going strong until 8 PM that night. I never really did feel it wear off either, I just slowly wound down. This was my best experience with the Jolt yet.

Delts:
Arnold press: 12 reps x 55 lbs, 8x60, 8x60
Upright DB rows: 8x40, 8x40

I switched from BB upright rows because my wrists were killing me.

Triceps:
Overhead rope extensions: 14x140, 13x140, 12x140
Tricep pushdowns: 13x70, 12x70

Biceps:
DB curls: 10x55, 9x55, 9x55
Hammer curls: 8x50, 6x50
