Thumbs up 60 days of Sesathin, the log

Hi, I'm skelooth. You might remember me from such logs as Melting Point, CL stack, reboundXT, or even my fat loss journal on the fat board. Today I begin a new log. A 2 month run of Avant Labs Sesathin.

About skelooth (Skel for short prz):
I started "seriously" lifting back in early August 2004. Starting at a very week and fat 282lbs with ~40% bodyfat I was a mess. Lifting weights and the fitness lifestyle has turned me into an entirely new person. Today in early December 2005 I stand at 6' tall, 200lbs on the dot, and I'd like to 'guestimate' 16% bodyfat.

Nutrition:
Currently following the Cyclic Ketogenic Diet. I'm very serious about my diet, and I eat clean! I 'cheat' approximately once every 2-3 weeks, and it will be one meal (usually pizza). The cyclic ketogenic diet is too complicated to explain here, if you're interested in it you can find more information at http://c-k-d.com on their forum. I've tweaked the diet in the following ways: PWO shakes include 12g of maltodextrin (carb up PWO shake contains 60g), carb ups are contained to one day, and carb ups are done strictly on low GI carbs such as root vegetables, brown rice, and oatmeal.

Lifting:
I no longer follow a 'set program'. I lift what I feel needs to be lifted when it feels it needs it. I generally do a 6 day split at the heart of it all. The brunt of my workouts are deadlifts squats and presses. I do a 5x5-8 set and rep range, and my workouts usually last 30-45 minutes.

Cardio:
What's that? Oh, when I pretend I'm a hamster in a hamster wheel? NO! Very little. I do cardio maybe once or twice a week, and I really save it as more of a plataue buster. I'm a man, and men lift.

Supplementation:
Sesathin: 1 cap full 3x a day
Ephedrine/caffiene/synephrine stack 'as needed' (read way too often)
Morning: AST multi, 200mg chromium picolinate
Night: AST multi
PWO: whey, maltodextrin, 1g vit c, 400iu vit e, 400mg green tea, 99mg potassium

I will be running out of ephedrine at one point during this log, and will probably start creatine at some point during this log.

Day 2:

I recieved the sesathin yesterday so I started supplementing immediately like a kid with a new toy. It took me a hot minute to realize that filling the cap equaled 1/4 teaspoon. The bottle looks cool, and... it actually doesn't taste bad! Almost like... a nutty flavor ... kinda. No side effects of any sort so far good or bad. I have no idea what type of side effects to expect with this product, I'd imagine not many due to it's nature.

I'll post up some 'before' pictures either today or tomorrow. Official weigh in is tomorrow, but for the sake of starting this log, I was 200.5 lbs this morning.

Day 3: 57 to go

Life continues as usual! I so far see no apparent side effects of the sesathin. Today is my carb up and I decided to do a pretty grueling full body workout today. (Any workout that contains squats benches and deadlifts in that order is grueling!). I messed around a bit with higher rep ranges, but still did at least one heavy set of each exercise. The mirror continues to be good to me.

Hmmm... I feel a bit dehydrated (or at least thirsty) today. I can't seem to stop drinking water, and I don't seem to be peeing it out yet either. Perhaps it has to do with the 6 cups of oatmeal I ate today.

I would love anyone's guestimates on my BF% because I don't trust the caliper tests at my gym.

haha, I wish. I have a snaggle tooth that is pushed back a little bit. As I get older it gets darker... I've tried everything (but going to the dentist). I buy all extra whitening tooth cleaning products and scrub the hell out of it but it refuses to get white

Day 4: *stretch/yawn*

Good morning folks. I trust we all slept well. I slept like a baby. Yesterday was my carb up... and in tune with most carb ups I was absolutely shot by the end of the night. Still not noticing any 'side effects' of any type which I'd imagine is a good thing.

But I will say... I am thirsty as all hell. I'm going to drink more water the next couple of days, just to determine if this unquenched thirst is a monster of my own doing.

One odd thing, I only gained ~.5lbs during my carb up.... anyone who does CKD would agree that's weird. I didn't eat carbs all week, then yesterday I ate 9 cups of cooked oatmeal, 2 whole sweet potatos, 4 slices of rye-ola bread (very healthy bread, tastes like poop), a 1lb bag of orange and yellow carrots, along with any other trace carbs I ate throughout the day. You'd think I'd put on some weight!

So, we'll see. It's entirely possible I just didn't eat enough.

P.S. It's my birthday soon. There will be massive cheating taking place.

Day 5: Tis me birthday ye filthy land lubbers, Arrrrr

I got my birthday wish today. I went into the gym and I benched then 90lb dumbells like they were my bitch. (Yes, that is what I wanted for my birthday). Good workout. 5 sets of flat DB bench, 5 sets of cable flies, 3 sets of machine bench, 3 sets of machine flies.

Post Workout meal was a cappi+provolone sandwich + 3 donuts

Tonights festivities will include nachos, pizza, cake, and hopefully some 'cardio'

I'm 25. I have gray hairs...

Let's put sesathin to the test haha. I maybe promise to maybe punish myself in the gym tomorrow maybe

Well congrats on everything you've accomplished so far Skel and a very happy cheat day(er birthday) to you! I'm looking forward to seeing this run of Sesathin, since the most I've ever read a log on was 1 month prior to this.

Day 6: So much for damage control

The verdict... I managed to pack on 8 lbs of 'weight' on my birthday, LOL I went a little nuts on food! I was bad, I even finished off my birthday cake for breakfast.... then I figured I'd do some cardio before school and I felt sick to my stomach. I did about 5 minutes of stationary bike and I was huffing and puffing with huge lactic acid build up in my legs. Either I turned out of shape over night, or eating unhealthy kicked my ass.

But now I'm back on the hardcore diet bandwagon. (read: a typical meal is 3.5oz chicken and 2 tblspns of walnut oil). The kids at school always give me the strangest looks when i start eating walnut oil off a spoon.

Had a good/great back workout. Strength seems to be up (presumabley from the 999999999g of carbs i ate yesterday). Deadlifts, barbell rows, then lat pull downs, a 5x5 of each.

I would still like to do some cardio later on tonight. I feel a lotta bit guilty about pigging out on my birthday, so I'd like to do my best at getting back into ketosis asap.

But being at the gym put me in a bad mood... I can't really explain it. Maybe I'm just paranoid but I got the feeling I was unwanted at the gym. **** em all I say.

Uhh.... yeah, that pretty much concludes tonight's entry. If I get around to doing cardio later it will probably only be for 20 minutes... which will be HARD for me, because I so rarely do cardio.

Day 7: mmmm walnut oil

I'm still blimped up on the scale at about 205lbs But I'm going probably overly strict on my diet, and I plan on being back in ketosis by this evening.

This morning I went to the gym and did 9 sets of military press (5 regular, 4 behind the neck) then 2 sets of crunches and 2 sets of weighted torso rotations.

This afternoon I went back after school and did a 5x5 of barbell shrugs, 2 sets of crunches, then 15 minutes of HIIT on a treadmill (I think it came out to 4 sprints and 2 jogs).

Now I'm going to go to work and bust my ass there :p

I've been sleeping too well (hard to wake up in the morning), and am experiencing no real side effects except I can't shake this damn thirst. I am thirsty 24/7.... :p

Day 8: I want to be a freaky mass monster when I grow up

Good workout this morning... I think my strength in squats is actually going up. I did a six sets of 5 reps atg with 225lbs... with great form. Normally my form gets crappy in the last set or two... so... it might be time to pop another 10lbs on there. Strength went up in leg press and leg curl as well.

I was still over 200lbs this morning... which is ticking me off, and I was still not in ketosis this morning.

I went snow showing at school today... so my legs took a real beating overall.

A little stressed right now with finals, but hopefully it won't effect my weight loss.

CRAPPPY I just remembered, I missed a dose of sesathin.... I'm gonna go take one now, then I'll go to bed late or something so i can take the third dose, lol.

Day 9: I need a hug

Later on in day 8 I did enter ketosis.... anyway, today I went to the gym and did chest again. My chest is non existant and I am desperately trying to grow that jammy I did about 6-7 sets of 5 reps with slow negatives incline dumbell press with 85lb dumbells. Strength apparently is down b/c I could not get the 90s up for the life of me. Then I did 3x10 of cable flies, and then 3 sets of max effort (1-2 reps) flat bench which at this point was the 80lb DBs. I finished off with two sets of pushups to failure.

But here's the issue. My hunger is ravenous.

Maybe my birthday cheating set off a trigger? Maybe it's the stress of finals? Maybe its the stress of the relationship i'm in / not in? I today as if I were bulking. All clean food, but WAAAAAY over maintenance. I wouldn't be surprised if i hit 4,000 cals.

so, we'll call it a refeed, even though it's not going to stop me from carbing up tomorrow :p But yeah... the hunger is out of hand. I've lost all hope of being sub 200lbs for my next weigh in.

Day 10: The video game workout!

Ahhhh, shhhh, don't tell. I'm having a dirty carb up. I'm just so stressed with everything I felt it necessary to eat deli sandwiches, chili, and a loaf of potato bread today.

But mark my words, I am going back at it hardcore tomorrow with a new gameplan... increased cardio! I bought DDR for xbox! I plan on putting in at least a half hour of DDR in 5-6 days a week. I can't think of a better way to do cardio in the winter months!

No depletion workout today... I'm too stressed.

Day 11: The stress is unbearable

Girlfriend cheating on and dumping me, some random internet loser whom i've never met in my life talking smack about me on my friend's profile on myspace, mid terms, a C in economics, unbearable hunger.... gah.
