Yes, they're great for developing explosive power and strength if performed correctly.

I think that they should be done occasionally. I read somewhere that it isn't true that olympic lifts are more explosive...because you can make any lift explosive. And I personally don't do them always because I know for sure my form isn't 100% perfect because I was never taught them and I know if I go heavy, I'm going to most likely injure myself.

I used to do powecleans regularly, though now only rarely. They are tough.

Olympic lifts are great at increasing strength and power, but on the downside they are extremely difficult to do even with proper form also they are extremely dnagerous. Personally I stay away from Olympic lifts but incorporate strength training in other various ways.

Most defintly, they activate a plethora of muscles, so if your gettin stronger in olympic lifts your obviously going to grow if you diet is up to par.

If you don't do olympic lifts (specifically the big three), you're not really lifting weights

Cleans and the likes are debatable. I think there is a point when the movement becomes ''too compound''.

True, every workout program should include the big three, no matter how new or how advanced you are, I agree with you on the cleans and the likes

I don't, but would like to use them. There are no coaches around to check my form and I would like to know if I'm doing them right. I think for sports training that they would be ideal for explosiveness.

I always include a powerclean set into my workouts and deadlifts work great on core days.

I do an occasional clean/jerk
