I'm big into backcountry powder & trees, stuff you have to hike to. I'll hit an occasional groomer but tend to avoid the family-friendly areas...had my ski's ran over more than a couple times by the kiddies, not a fan. nothing better than getting first tracks on some fresh powder though... Got a pair of dynastar troublemakers & some pocket rockets that are about worn out. Looking at buying the new atomic thug's once the deep snow hits and I can work up the $$$ I'm currently praying for snow. |

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 216 | I snowboard quite a bit when the opportunity presents itself. I was riding a Burton Twin 156 but have gained weight since the last time I rode it so I'm gonna have to look for something a little longer. I love backcountry as well; not big on the terrain parks since I'm not exactly the right build for flipping and spinning around, but get me on the upper mountain at Jackson Hole and you'll find me hucking myself off of anything and everything with powder at the bottom. ![]()

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 216 | I'm going up to Mammoth in February...I'm so stoked that I get to buy a new board and bindings. I can't wait to get out there again. That said, I gotta start training calves super high volume to make sure I'm not out there cramping up. Sigh.

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 216 | Ok I just got back from Mammoth. My camera met a crunchy and wet demise in the Unbound terrain park so no pics of my own but I'm hoping to get some from my friends. On the drive up we were flanked by 10-15 foot tall banks of snow on the sides of the road. We arrived at 2:30 in the morning to some COLD weather...it was 6 degrees outside and had been a high of 13 that day. That all changed on Friday when we hit the slopes and basked in a glorious high of 50. I was riding in a long sleeve tshirt with a short sleeve over it. So sick. Friday wasn't crowded at all, so we ran all over the mountain and just ripped the place up. I plucked up the courage to try a 540 in the main park and slipped off my edge when I landed heelside. I kind of just tipped over onto my back and slid for a little bit before standing up again, but managed to wreck my new camera anyway. Bah. Got a pinched nerve in my left foot from some random pressure point my boots/bindings created so I didn't ride on Sunday and instead went and bought a pair of Burton Hail boots ![]() and Triad bindings. ![]() Buying them online would have saved me about $100 or so, but that probably wouldn't make up for the hassle and frustration of trying to find the perfect size boot and binding to go together. Now I have to figure out what board to buy, since I'm waiting until later this spring for all the sales on the '08 models that are going to start happening. This is dangerous though, the addiction has been refreshed and now I'm thinking about it constantly.
