Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 49 | Patriots acquire Moss from Raiders Months of speculation finally comes to an end on the second day of the NFL Draft. Randy Moss is being traded. FOXSports.com's John Czarnecki confirms that the New England Patriots have agreed to send a fourth-round pick (No. 127) to the Oakland Raiders in exchange for the former Pro Bowl receiver. Moss' production fell off significantly as the Raiders went 2-14 in 2006. Moss finished with just 42 catches for 553 yards and three touchdowns. All were career lows for a receiver once considered the most explosive offensive player in the game. Not only does Moss have to pass a physical Sunday morning in Foxboro, but he may have to re-work his contract. There were numerous internet reports on Friday that Moss would end up with the Green Bay Packers and that quarterback Brett Favre was asking the team to acquire Moss. Well, in the end, the Packers made no offer to the Raiders for Moss. Obviously, the Packers aren't listening to Favre nor reacting to what he wants. Moss did control this situation. He wanted to play for the Patriots. He believes they are ready to win another Super Bowl. Moss didn't feel the same about the Packers. And he was willing to re-work his contract for the Patriots, too. At $10 million a season, that was an important element to the trade. No way the Patriots could pay him that salary. If he passes the physical, Moss will join a revamped receiver corps in New England that has already added Donte Stallworth, Wes Welker and Kelley Washington this off-season

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 178 | I think Moss is way overratted. He hasn't been impressive in the last 3 years, and I will be shocked if he makes it through the season without getting injured. The Pats are going to have a pretty insane team this year though... Their front office has to be the best in NFL history. If Moss played for them, and got 35 touchdowns, and had 2500 reciving yards, with a 30 ypc average and asked to renegotiate the following year the Pats would say no way... They will not let any player on the team become overly important to them. I think also after winning 3 superbowls in 4 years alot of players are willing to play there just to get a ring.. even if it's for less money. If the team does get to the Superbowl and wins the players can usualy get a nice fat contract in free agency... |

| Mushroom Cloud Laying.... | Well the raiders were stuck between a rock and a hardplace. They had to deal moss, and get something for it. they could have cut him, but then they wouldn't have got the 4th rounder. Not to mention getting rid of him and not taking someone with a high salary back saves them a lot of money. Does suck though.

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 60 | I'm from MN, and i was getting sick of people bitching about getting moss back. these from the same people that did nothing but bad mouth him while he was here. he was glorious when he started, but when he got his little superstar mentality he became a joke. 5-10 yards of running then he;d walk cause he wasnt getting the ball. plus his legal run-ins |

| Mushroom Cloud Laying.... | Yeah... I will give you all some history about Randy Moss that most don't know... He grew up poor as shit in Rand West Virginia (suburb of Charleston, WV). Went to dupont highschool and played sports with Jason "White Chocolate" Williams for the heat. Got into all kinds of trouble in high school. Everything from drugs to fights. I am 90% sure he left a kid in a wheelchair from a fight. Use to date a girl from my hometown that he got in trouble beating the shit out of. First was suppose to go to notre dame but wouldn't take him because of his grades. Florida state was next, but his legal problems were stopping him there. Then went to Division II Marshall, won a national championship with Pennington. Then went to Divison I where he set the then record of consecutive touch down receptions for a receiver. That should catch you all up. He has been a dip shit for years. It is bad when people from his area don't really like him.

Moss would not have gone to the Packers.. He was getting 10 million from Oakland... His motivation for going to the Pats is he wants to play for a team that he feels could win a superbowl this year... He even took like a 3 million a year paycut to do it...

| Mushroom Cloud Laying.... | It was incentative base though, so moss will make some good money if he performs. I honestly hope the chemistry is ruined and the pat's go 3-13

The funny thing about the salary cap too is that the Pats arent even near it.. they have plenty of cap room.. I am sure they will pick up some awesome unsigned free agents as well...

Recipes: 0 Rep Power: 86 | I think that the Packers were probably number two on his list. Brett Favre loves to throw the jump ball and that is Moss's speciality. Favre had a lot of success with Javon Walker and could have had success with Moss if Ted Thompson wasn't so conservative. |

I don't know.. Moss wants a superbowl ring. I think he would go to any team that has a very good chance. I think the packers have more problems to deal with before they will be contenders.
