How does a 5-0 loss strike you? I gave up on the Oilers when they lost the last game to the Wild. This is nowhere as good a team as last year.

Smyth is a jackass. If he loved Edmonton so much he should have given them a "hometown discount." Obviously money was more important than staying there for him, his waterworks don't fool me and neither did Goontuzzi's. I predict he'll be back in the City of Champs come July 1st. Lowe should sign him for less than the last offer.

An update, apparantly Smyth turned down 5.4/5Y because he wanted 5.5/5Y. Yeah, looks like The Mullet really wanted to stay in edmonton. What a jerk, I hope his season ends early. I never liked the guy and this makes it even worse.

He says that rumor is false and if it had just been the $100,000 he would have dropped his price. I'm guessing he wanted a no trade clause and free mullet cut's for 5 years and Lowe refused the mullet cut's.

Indeed, but look at the bright side bro, our team is building. They have some incredible youngin's, and even as soon as next season I see the Avs back to their regular ass-kicking selves '96 style.

Of course the big 33 made a big difference that year, but still.

Oh yeah, definitely Buffalo. That is probably the best team in the NHL. They're always losing key players yet they continue to win. Solid drafting and player development makes an amazing team. I hope they don't lose their key UFAs next year.
