Default The Mighty Steelers

LOL, the great Steelers and Big Ben got owned by their division rival, the Bengals, and in their own house too. lmao

Ok, ok, they didn't play that bad. But it was sweet revenge for Carson and the Bengals anyways.

With the Bengals and the Ravens at 3-0 and the Steelers at 1-2 now, they are going to have a tough time this year. At least it's looking that way right now.

I was doing my fair share of celebrating yesterday. Even though I went to school with Ben (I go to Miami), I live about 20 mins north of Cincinnati, and lived down there for a year and a half while I was going to UC.

Ben is the most over rated QB in football. He had a high QB rating his 1st 2 years because the team was so effective at running the ball. They would run run run run run till the opposing team would stack the box to stop them, then Ben would throw a nice easy pass to a wide open reciever, or a screen pass.

He averaged 22 attempts, and 15 completions a game, he only passed for 2621 yards 1st season season, and 2385 his second... wich shows he only passed when he had golden opportunities, if he was on a team with a lesser defense he would have been pressured to pass more, and his true colors would have shown earlier...

his QB rating in the superbowl was 22.6...

A good QB on that team would have passed for a ton of yards with such an effective run game to open the pass, and great defense to keep his offense on the field..

I would be willing to bet teh reason Ben was in such a hurry to come back from his surgery is because he doesn't want everyone to see that Charlie Batch is better.... A guy they are probably paying a 3rd as much as him...

If I was the coach, I'd bench Ben for the rest of the season. The amount of stress his body and mind have went through this year is crazy. They are risking his entire future by still allowing him to play. He could be a good quarterback but he needs time to mentally and physically heal. He's making freshman college quarterback mistakes and just doesn't look comfortable playing.

I agree. The thing that is so bizarre is that his first 3 games, he was HORRIBLE, then the next 2 games, he was borderline Godlike, then this past week, he was terrible, again.

Interestingly enough, he is making bad decisions. now, his bad games with bad decisions...right after a concussion...

DUH...damn Cowher. Charlie Batch could start for half the teams in the NFL right now, and he won't give Ben a break and let his brain get back in order. *snarl*

They should sit Ben down for now. He tried to come back too soon. Plus, he has a much weaker supporting cast, and doesn't seem to be strong enough to carry the load himself.

actually, against KC and Atlanta, he was 32-41 (78%), 476 yards, 5 TD, 0 INT.

unfortunately, he DEFINITELY NEEDS TO SIT. Too many noggin' hits.

Yup. I'm surprised they even allowed him to play after his motorcycle accident. Concussions have ended some of the greatest careers in football. The thing is with a concussion there are no visible side effects after a few days to a couple weeks after the injury. You notice them months if not YEARS down the road, as I am now. In four years of HS football I had five concussion, four coming in two years (3 bad enough to land me in the hospital for a few days). I'm paying for it now with memory problems and migranes.

Ben and the management need to realize this year is DONE for them. Give someone else a chance and let you high dollar, money making QB rest up before his brain turns to mush.

The Steelers as a whole are not what they were last year. I just don't see the "snap" that they had before.

Agreed.

It seems the loss of a few key players effected them more than everyone thought it would. Apparently, not everyone can be the Patriots.
