Default Mayweather says UFC "Aint shit"

Here's his recent comments from thesweetscience.com

"UFC and Chuck Liddell didn’t escape Floyd’s venom. “UFC ain’t shit,” he said. “It ain’t but a fad. Anyone can put a tattoo on their head and get in a street fight.” He singled out UFC poster boy Chuck Liddell for an extra overhand right. “We should put Liddell against a good heavyweight, under Mayweather Promotions, and if Chuck wins, then I’ll give him a million dollars out of my own pocket.” PBF then shoe-shined all MMA fighters. “These are guys who couldn’t make it in boxing,” he said. “So they do (MMA). Boxing is the best sport in the world and it’s here to stay.”"

I'm still waiting to see a top level boxer fight a MMA guy. Would be exciting to watch though any smart MMA guy would just go for the take down straight off and it'd be over.

if they used boxing rules the MMA guy would get destroyed, if they use MMA rules the boxer would get owned.

What's a pure boxer going to do when taken down to the ground?

Mayweather is just looking at the huge payday. I am sure it would attract a massive pay per view. People would be curious as to what would happen.

I know I would be.

hmmm agreed. Hey I would love to see chuck fight a top level guy. Even a top 10 guy for exibition purposes. I don't know if he could do it. Under boxing rules. Different strokes for different folks. Olympic Wrestling probably has guys that think the same thing.

Of course, a boxer would win in a staight up boxing match, and of course an MMA star would kill a champion in MMA. Mayweather is right and wrong at the same time. I really think an MMA guy couldn't last 1 round against a top boxer in the same weight class in a boxing match. A boxer couldn't last 30 seconds against an MMA fighter unless they got a lucky punch.

In related news, UFC says Mayweather "ain't shit."

Honestly, a straight-up boxer wouldn't last in MMA. Once somebody shoots on them, they're done. MMA fighters may not be world class at any single combat style (except for the Gracies and Jeff Monson), but they're well rounded. They have versatility that you won't find in other fighters.

It would definitely depend on the situation. Of course a MMA fighter should win in a MMA fight, but of course if tyson in his prime was fighting ortiz or something and he landed an uppercut at the start of the match it would be over. Then again, a MMA fighter should win 9/10 fights. Boxers would beat MMA fighters in a boxing match almost 100% of the time.

I was referring to tyson at age 20-25. But I would be interested to see if he could out fight them.
