They have the best team money can buy. I hate the Yankees, I'm glad to see them out again. I'll be rooting for my hometown St. Louis Cardinals. Go Cards.

All George S. cares about is winning the World Series and Joe T. has not been able to deliver lately. It will be interesting to see how this plays out. The NY media will have a field day. I'm certainly no Yankee fan but I think Joe T. is a class guy though.

And Joe isn't the one playing the game. The greatest manager in the world is of little value if the team isn't playing up to par. Clearly the Yankees have the best team going (considering talent and pay roll). But they are a bunch of guys playing ball. The need to look at the Tigers. Now there is a team. Much smaller pay roll, not nearly as much talent, but a better TEAM. George needs to learn that you can't buy a TEAM. You can buy talent, but it is up to the group to gel and form a TEAM. Only then will they begin to win.

Unless they make other significant changes in the off season, (and I bet they do), Lou won't do any better next year. The Orioles tried that with Lou a few years back, and it didn't work then.
